ZEISS Group - Employee Relations Role (5-7 yrs)

Job purpose : The purpose of the role is to facilitate healthy and sustainable employee relations practices at ZEISS India (mainly in Production Operations / Manufacturing vertical). The incumbent will further be responsible in implementing best practices, process, HR strategy in the factory premises. Further, effectively liaise between shopfloor employees, management and central human resources function to enable people to perform and meet overall objectives of the organization.

Main Accountabilities :

Production operations :

- Responsible for driving healthy, cordial and proactive employee relations at the plant

- Handle daily operational issues pertaining to workmen

- Assist and guide Line leaders and Supervisors periodically for managing the shopfloor and their workmen

- Effectively manage employee Leave and attendance management

- Effectively manage Contractual/ Casual/ Fixed Term/On the Job Trainees/ workmen in line with the Labour Laws and as per the organizational requirements

- Guide Line Leaders/Supervisors in handing Employee Grievance and actively take part in monitoring the outcome and implementation of the resolutions

- Execute and facilitate disciplinary actions whenever required.

- Maintain all the statutory registers, payments and ensure returns filed on time

- Collaborate with the quality and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) departments, drive the necessary programs

- Manage Employee Health Check-up programs and Background verification of all employees

- Conduct regular audits, reviews of the division, contractors / vendors and drive compliance

- Support for Union handling and management

- Support to initiate ER/IR Projects

- Employee data management

- Maintain all the statutory registers, payments and ensure returns filed on time

- Monitor labour law compliance - ZEISS India

- Contract labour management including compliance

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

- Facilitate implementation of worker development programs and continuous improvement programs for employee involvement with production/business

- Develop strong network among shop floor employees

- Employee Engagement - team building, team outing, shopfloor R&R programme, small group activities and other innovative HR practices etc

- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the HR & organisation strategy

- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers

- Work as closely with the management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing right labour law practices, processes, and procedure and maintain healthy industrial relationship, in line with Company values, code of conduct

- Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the Company, in relation to compliance and statutory requirements

Job Specifications :

- Education : MBA/MSW

- 2 year full-time postgraduate degree or diploma in Human Resource Management / Personnel Management / Industrial Relations from the Institute of repute.

- Knowledge of labour laws is essential.

Experience :

- 5 to 7 years of experience in the Plant HR / IR role

- Good skills in the areas of Labour relations, compliance and statutory requirements

- Experience in dealing with labour and factory departments / officials

Other skills :

- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).

- Proficiency in Regional Language - Kannada and Hindi

- Presentation skills

- Good problem solving skills.

- Good drafting skills
