JOB SUMMARY :

- Global Finance Services (GFS) is a recently formed team that operates out of London, Ipswich, Nashville and Mumbai. Each GFS service is supported by a GFS Director who is responsible for all operational aspects and performance of that service.

- The team's goals are to improve the controllership; efficiency and value add that finance brings to the Willis Towers Watson Group. In order to reach its goals, various finance functions/tasks that are currently either embedded in a business unit or in country are being moved under the GFS umbrella. Once a team has been moved into GFS then GFS management along with the team work to ensure that best practice is followed and that all finance functions are working to the highest standard possible.

- An opportunity has arisen within the Global Financial Services team in Mumbai to undertake and manage the Record-to-Report activities moving to GFS Mumbai from the regulated financial accounts team.This role covers all aspects of financial reporting; controlling the company balance sheets, external statutory reporting, and preparing entity level information for incorporation in regulatory and board reports. The person will be required to work closely with the WTW UK / US / International Finance teams building a good working relationship and instrumental in contributing towards the development of a forward looking, proactive professional Finance team, which not only produces data, but also analyses and reviews data.

Operational Delivery

- Assume overall responsibility for managing International, Western Europeand Overseas Country accounts and liaising with respective country CFOs / RFOs for the Financial reporting packs

- Ensure that all International and Western Europe Countries submit various MIS reports, C&F packs, Cash Repatriation reports, CFO Certificates etc. and also present the reports to UK counterparts as per Group Specific Timelines

- Ensure that all the International and Overseas Accounting and Reporting packs are closed by WD4 as per Local GAAP & US GAAP

- Ensure that the International and Overseas Legal Entity Controllership teams are functioning at optimum capacity and the quality of resources required to deliver the functional objectives and that they are effectively controlled and targeted

- Review monthly accruals & deferrals and ensure that they are in line with policy of the organisation after consultation with UK stakeholders.

- Ensure that all the Reinsurance International country accounting books are closed & reconciliations are done by agreed deadlines

- Participate in knowledge sharing forums across the organization

- Lead process enhancement/continuous improvement projects by leading gap analysis,developing to-be processes, identifying training needs and ensuring training materials are created

- Ensure absolute data integrity and minimize the error related to processing of country reporting packs

- Monitor Compliance guidelines in achieving the monthly Targets/Metrics

- Ensure application of controls to overcome loopholes in the processes

Strategy :

- Contribute to the development of the short and long-term GFS strategy in conjunction with onshore counterparts

- Drive future work transfer opportunities and present proposals/ work transition plans to relevant stakeholders

- Partner with leadership to lead change by managing strategic initiatives to meet business needs

Relationship/Stakeholder Management :

- Work with internal and external sources to identify opportunities to work collaboratively on alignment of strategic activity related to GFS

- Maintain an effective and consistent communication channel with internal and external GFS stakeholders, Global R2R Leaders and teams and take corrective actions as required

- Support the development of further business opportunities through service opportunities

- Engage constructively with stakeholders to maintain effective relationships

People Management/ Development :

- Take an active role in ensuring that the training and development needs of all team members are met by seeking interesting and effective internal and external learning opportunities

- Supervise and manage the direct reports ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams

- Instil a - client/customer- focused mind-set that incorporates a strong sense of pride in providing quality deliverables

- Provide regular and effective performance feedback to team members and provide career planning guidance

- Develop a succession plan for key positions within the centre, as well as a talent watch list for key roles that support the defined retention/engagement strategies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

Qualifications :

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) or MBA (Finance) from aTier 1 or Tier2 Management Institute

Skills :

- Significant experience in running a Financial RTR (Record to Report) service delivery operations for a UK/US listed corporation related to WTW business lines

- Proven track record of delivering excellent levels of client service across varied stakeholders through a large Finance Operations function

- An effective leader with keen communication, analytical, team building and relationship management skills.

- Broad operations expertise which encompasses previous knowledge of coordinating with diverse logistical functions such as operations, IT, compliance, risk, business improvement

- Ability to complete tasks to given deadlines whilst still maintaining attention to detail

- Professional self-starter who is not afraid to put forward ideas for discussion and debate and challenge

- Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and use of PowerPoint and Word as a minimum

- Knowledge and understanding of the Company's vision and values

- Proactive and inquisitive attitude with a - can-do- approach to tasks and requests

- Strong problem solving, facilitation and negotiation skills

- An ability to work well with others and be flexible in an ever changing working environment

- Ability to coach and motivate team members to optimise team effectiveness and enhance team interactions

Knowledge / Experience :

- 15+ years of work experience in operations management, transition management and information management as part of a Finance Operations team.

- Extensive experience in Legal Entity Controllership, reporting and analysis, with advanced spreadsheet skills.

- Working knowledge of Oracle Financials and Hyperion Reporting will be an advantage.

- Knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP & IFRS would be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
