Job Description :
- The candidate would focus on deep diving into investment opportunities to understand and analyse the quality of a business and drawing unique insights from her research.
- Assessing the quality of the management team and the underlying culture within the company is of critical importance. Research would be focused on the potential of the company to compound returns over a long time frame, rather than on event-driven, short term catalysts.
- The candidate will work directly with the portfolio manager, who was heading the investment team for a large FII fund with over US$500 million is assets over the last fourteen years and also has extensive global investing experience.
- It will allow the candidate to get hands-on exposure to the intricacies of investing from conducting research & analysis, management due diligence, financial modelling to evaluating the risk-reward framework on each investment decision.
Skills Needed:
- The candidate needs to have 1-3 years of experience, preferably on the buy-side.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role. Independent thinking, diligence, persistence and curiosity is critical for long term success in this role. At the same time, humility and respect towards individuals within the firm and outside is important.
- Ability to think using first principles and filter signal from the noise.
- Proficiency in using multiple data sources to collate and analyze information by drawing own conclusion and making sense out of the data
- A candidate who gets along with teams and contributes to making the whole greater than sum of parts.
