Sustainability Manager - WayCool Foods and Products, Chennai

As part of our sustainability program, our goals include the achievement of net energy positive, net water positive, net CO2 negative and zero waste targets by 2025.

The Sustainability Manager role, will report to the CEO, and be based at Chennai, while working closely with various divisions of the company associated with its sustainability initiatives, namely the ESG team, the Outgrow organization, and other teams associated with the creation of rural entrepreneurship.

The key tasks performed by the Sustainability Manager will be :

1) To capture the requirements on Environment, Social and Governance norms as defined by IFC, and other relevant standards

2) Define the company's strategy to meet these standards, as well as the overarching goals set by the company

3) Translate the strategic objectives to annual and quarterly targets

4) Define and produce reports that align with GRI sustainability reporting guidelines

5) Define and drive projects to achieve targets defined 


6) Support the internal teams in preparing their E and S budgets

7) Work with external agencies to secure grants, crowdsourced funding and other methods of financing sustainability initiatives, and the above budgets

8) Measure progress and audit E and S activities

Ideal qualifications and experience on the role include :

- 5 to 7 years experience in E&S strategy, management and budget responsibility with a mid-sized impact organization or consultancy.

- Experience with IFC Performance Standards; ISO; GRI; and industry management system development and certifications is preferred

- Passionate about environmental and social issues

- Independent, self-motivated, energetic, persistent

- University degree in a technical field. Environmental sciences, social sciences or related area preferred.
