The Wadhwani Institute for Technology and Policy (WITP) is a new institution established in India to leverage emerging technologies in ways that improve public service delivery and decision- making. Funded by the Wadhwani Foundation, the philanthropic body established in 2000 by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, WITP is envisioned to be a globally unique institution with a dual mission, working both, as a think tank and a training academy. WITP is seeking a Solution Architect to work in our Delhi office on Client's projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design and implementation. Reviews business context for solutions to department/sector challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with demonstrable skills in architecting solutions for large projects. The candidate must perform well under pressure, have strong knowledge of software development cycle, have analytical skills, be highly detail-oriented and have experience of working on emerging technologies. Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working on projects under central/state governments/PSUs. Role &amp; Responsibilities: - Analyze current business architecture, application architecture and technologies used within the department/organization and determine ways to improve - Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates - Work closely with Information professionals within the department to ensure the right avlaibility of resources. - Propose and establish framework for necessary contributions from various departments - Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope - Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions - Resolve technical problems, as they arise - Assess the business impact that certain technical choices have. - Identify and recommend appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership. Skills, Experience &amp; Qualification: Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education. Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering will be preferred. Preferably TOGAF certified. Experience: - 10-12 years of experience - Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design. - Previous project management experience is advantageous. - In-depth understanding of coding languages and sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases. - Experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure - Professional experience working with and analyzing computer hardware and software - Must have worked in Government Sector, preferably Indian Government. Hands on experience in IT transformation project in Government sector will be preferred. Skills : - Analytical and problem-solving skills - Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes - Efficient technology solutions (for example, data wrangling components prepare data for subsequent data mining, which results in getting insights, which result in business decisions). Others : - Ability to work under indirect supervision - Positive outlook in meeting challenges and working to a high level - Excellent oral and written communication - Broad understanding of information technology topics - Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability KRAs/ KPIs: - Define solution requirements, key features of the solution, and phases of implementation. - Provide specifications for solutions management and delivery. - Finding a viable solution on following parameters - Technology - Risks - Scope - Cost - Quality - Time - Value for each stakeholder
