Consultant/Sr Consultant - Diagnostic and Insights Job Overview : Position Name : Consultant/Sr Consultant - Diagnostic and Insights Work Location : Mumbai/ New Delhi/ Gurgaon Reports to : Senior Manager/ Principal, WA Program : Wadhwani Advantage The Role Context : - This role is primarily that of a strategy consulting, with deep understanding of industry, revenue strategy/ growth skills and ensuring world class execution of the project before the implementation is handed over to the SME Success team, that ensures a disciplined PMO of the implementation or transformation execution. - The candidate will own all activities related to diagnosing the client's growth-related challenges and identify opportunities to accelerate client's growth 2x-10x. - The candidate is expected to provide cutting edge thinking, structured logical analysis to find the causal and correlational issues and then, advice the client on the top 3 areas of transformations, expected SME outcomes in revenue, margins, new jobs creation potential and define metrics/ KPIs that track improvements in SME outcomes, in alignment with the client. - The candidate will empower the client's functional teams and heads, and ensure that they are trained in doing right analysis to conclude on agenda for transformations, whilst preparing communications to report back to the client and top management at Wadhwani Foundation. Key Responsibilities : The Candidate should be able to leverage his/ her experience of management consulting and industry. Working under the guidance of Principal/Sr Manager, he/ she will be responsible for the following tasks : - Lead / perform Diagnostic and Insights study and deliver a report to accelerate SME growth (~100 hours of engagement with each SME and report within 10 weeks for each SME, concurrently being able to manage 10 SMEs.) - Define the KPIs and metric that will measure the baseline and the delta for SME outcomes; Revenue CAGR, Cash Runway, ROCE, net new jobs (from baseline to target in 3 years). - Define the KPI targets for Sales, Marketing, Product Dev, Finance, Ops, Marketing and HR to accomplish the defined outcomes. - Be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of the entire client portfolio including planning and implementation, tracking and problem resolution. - Providing deep and wise advice to clients based on what works best for them, and build a rock-solid relationship. - Train the SMEs on the tools / skills so that they are able to perform diagnostics and chart out a growth-related transformation plan on their own. - Help the client source and select the right advisor/ consultant/ mentor/ coach/ service provider in solving the problems or accelerating its profitable growth. - Improve / customize DIY tools that would help clients analyze problems or address growth opportunities better. Skills & Experience/ Profile for a Consultant/ Senior Consultant position : - Around 3 to 6 years of Management consulting experience in working with SME clients between Rs 50-300 Crore, including managing client transformation projects of expansion, business growth and revenue maximisation - Experience of sharp diagnostic techniques in the areas of revenue growth, consulting and people related decisions to manage the growth (delivering outcomes for SMEs + intellectually sound and yet practical and relevant recommendations) - Market Intelligence, Economic Analysis, competitor assessment, industry/sector analysis, Primary/Secondary research, strategic solutions, Client relationship management, Project management - Experience in Automotive/ Food processing/ Engineering goods/ Textiles / apparel/ Consumer goods sectors. - Deep understanding of the principles of change management and performance metrics - Process oriented thinking & ability to advise clients on digital tools - Good academic pedigree from Tier 1 institutes is preferred - Command over written, oral English languages - Deep ppt (decks), excel (market model, macros, work plans, PMO and work stream related plans), Power BI/ Tableau, mind map skills Deliverable : Diagnostic and Insights Report I. Market and competition assessment II. Business performance (mainly financial and sales) III. Organization assessment (need improvement) IV. Customer Performance and/ NPS V. Competitive position assessment on product, market, costs, customer performance etc. VI. Leadership assessment VII. SWOT (Finance, Customers, Leadership, Supply Chain, Employees and Result Management, etc.) VIII. Mind map linking the variables showing correlational and causal relationships, that will drive enterprise competitiveness and achievement of SME outcomes IX. Transformation charters of top 3 revenue acceleration areas which will deliver SME growth outcomes in the next 3 years and immediate 1 year (1.5x, where x is normal growth rate SME assumed without WA intervention), with timelines for completion of these 3 transformation charters and priorities, owners, PMO plan cadence (dates, reviews), and WF outcomes such as net new jobs in the next 3 years and immediate 1 year KRAs/ KPIs/ Impact Measures based on which the performance evaluation and decisions on career progression, increment, variable pay, designation, role, etc would be made : Quality : - Report NPS &gt; 60: What, how, when, where and who of transformation charters and alignment with SMEs on outcomes, transformation execution charter/ PMO plans based on Romesh's definition + mind map for 'why' of client situation and transformation charters - Drop off rate: &lt;20% from # of SMEs starting diagnosis to # of SMEs completing it - Alignment: SME and WF Outcome and PMO Plan Alignment with SMEs (Email confirmation or CRM SW): &gt;80% of SMEs in full alignment with the estimated outcomes and plans - Scale: #of SMEs diagnosed ; Monthly plan vs actual - Learning & Development; Case Study
