DESCRIPTION :

Role Overview :

As a Data Mining specialist, your role will be to design data modeling/analysis services used to mine enterprise systems and applications for knowledge and information that enhance business processes. You will also be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation.

Requirements :

- Minimum prior work experience of 8 years is a must.

- Strong understanding of data mining models, structures, theories, principles, and practices.

- Good understanding of knowledge discovery process and algorithms.

- Excellent knowledge of data modeling tools such as Oracle Data modeler, ERWin and ER Studio.

- Experience with Spark and Hadoop ecosystem and similar frameworks.

- Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting.

- Working technical experience with relational database servers, including MsSQL, Oracle, SAP Sybase.

- Familiarity with various tools such as AWS, Mesos or Docker and an instinct for automation

- Direct experience with data management techniques.

- Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.

- Project management experience.

- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

- Proficiency making ML models work at scale in production environments with comfort in working with tools to manage large datasets.

- Deep understanding of machine learning models, data analytics tools and deep learning frameworks.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Strategy & Planning :

- Create data mining architectures, coding standards, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies.

- Devise, develop, and deploy required data queries in response to business user needs.

- In conjunction with the solutions team, develop data models and protocols for mining production databases.

- Assist in the development of data management policies and procedures.

2. Operational Management :

- Work with application development staff to coordinate the creation and management of data queries.

- Provide and apply quality assurance best practices for data mining/analysis

- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data models.

- Create data definitions for new database file/table development and/or changes to existing ones.

- Determine required network components to ensure data access, as well as data consistency and integrity.

- Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices use of data mining tools.

- Collaborate with database and disaster recovery administrators to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

- Monitor data mining system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.

- Respond to and resolve data mining performance issues.

- Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
