VP - Client Onboarding - Leading Investment Bank
Role/Team Summary :
- The Client On-boarding team are responsible for the facilitation of new business across numerous asset classes, including Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, Cash Fixed Income products, Equities, Stock Borrow Loan, Equities Derivatives, Rates, Credit Derivatives, Futures, Prime Brokerage and Lending.
- The team carry out the process of converting a client's request to trade into a commercial and revenue generating relationship. Through liaising with the Sales desks who initiate the new client on-board requests, gathering documentation for the different levels of AML/KYC and Credit checks, and working with Legal Docs, Reference Data, AML Operations, Credit and Compliance, in order to on-board clients ready for trading.
- The mission statement of the team is to deliver timely and accurate on-boarding of clients across all products, countries and businesses, and to deliver a first class experience to our clients
- The core objective of the team is to facilitate new business transacted with the bank and support sales and trading, providing a one-stop-shop for the business and clients resulting in accurate and timely account set up.
Core activities will include :
- Single point of contact for queries, requests, facilitation of on boarding and trade execution for clients
- Managing expectations of internal support functions with insight into client requirements and development of business
- Consultation and mediation where parties cannot mutually agreeable terms
- Prioritization of workflow across the business to support key transactions and growth of business with clients
- Trouble shooting areas slowing business and provision of solutions
Process :
- Gathering of account opening documentation and completion of AML/KYC requirements
- Liaison with Credit Risk to obtain credit sanction
- Creating and sending Documentation for EMIR, Dodd Frank, FATCA and MiFID.
- Facilitation of front-to-back static set up of new client accounts, including SSI- s, ensuring accuracy and completion
- Facilitation of the on-boarding of clients will involve close working relationship with external Clients, Risk, Legal, Operations, Sales, Trading and Relationship Management colleagues.

- Front Office facing experience
- Manage time and prioritizes effectively
- Be able to deal with queries/requests in a timely manner
- Drive and previous experience in continuously improving processes and quality
- Strong communication, co-ordination, information gathering and collaboration skills
- Working knowledge of MS office with strong spreadsheet skills
- Ability to lead juniors through a range of desired skills
- Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships
- Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
- Experience of working in a financial markets environment
Degree qualified :
- Basic knowledge of On-boarding and different products and the life-cycle of a trade
- Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC)
- CIB system knowledge
