Vodafone - Manager/Sr Manager - Business Analyst (4-10 yrs)
Role purpose:
- Business Analyst is responsible for understanding the Business needs & identify how best to meet those needs.
- BA comprehends the need and benefits of a business requirement and objectively identifies the high level impacts & ability to meet those requirements through feasibility studies. This role demands working with multiple LOBs & various functions across projects as a SME.
- S/He is the one who works to bridge the gap between cross functional business requirements & technical requirements and works with Group Head BA.
- S/He is accountable for defining E2E business process by striking a right balance between business expectation & best fit solution basis the enterprise architecture
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Requirement Analysis & Capture:
- Elicit, analyse & translate business needs/problems into functional requirements which encompasses defining end to end cross functional processes, integration requirements, legal and security requirements for assigned demands
- Actively involve as a SME in a particular area for organization wide large initiatives in requirement analysis & feasibility phase
- Ensures for each assigned demand functional specs are created, reviewed and signed off by business teams before they are transitioned to design and delivery teams. BA should be able to work on 200 plus demands in a year
Feasibility Analysis:
- For assigned demand, critically analyses current business processes and assess solution feasibility in the light of existing IT systems and changes envisaged. Work on process improvements for optimised output
- Identify alternate best fit solutions in case of non-feasible requirements by working with Business & E2E Solution Design, Application teams
Transition of signed off requirements to E2E Solution Design Teams:
- Conduct requirements walkthrough to set a platform for E2E solution design teams & application teams to start solution design followed by delivery
- Work with Demand Managers & E2E Solution Design to propose proactive solutions as a SME
Vendor & Internal Stakeholder Management:
- S/He works with Group Head Business Analyst to provide status of demands under progress & prioritize business requirements
- Manages vendor teams BA resources for day to day work on requirements and ensures a timely delivery through regular reviews
- Ensure quality of deliverable from all partner team BA resources & adherence to agreed processes
Process Improvement:
- Work on process optimisation for faster roll out of demands
- Contribute to revision of templates and guidelines to capture requirements including improvements in internal tools used
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Minimum 6-10 yrs. of total IT experience majority in telecom domain with strong expertise in at least but not limited to 1 functional areas like CRM, Billing
- Proven experience of minimum 5 plus years in a Business Analyst role performing requirement analysis, feasibility studies especially on Telecom domain
- Understanding of standards, E2E business processes and IT mapping of the same across BSS, OSS and Enterprise landscape
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- University Degree
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
