Function /Department: Shared service team
The Incumbent would be responsible for Delivery for all tax processes (Indirect tax, Direct Tax & other local tax) throughout Vodafone entities/circles in India. The incumbent would play a very critical role in the timely completion of Tax Business Operations migration as per project plan.
The incumbent would also be responsible for delivering year on year productivity and efficiency and seamless service delivery. The incumbent would actively partner with concerned departments for effective talent development, knowledge management and continuous improvement initiatives within the SSC for his team.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilitie:
1. Service Delivery:
- Manage seamless service delivery of pan India circles for tax processes.
2. Operational Excellence:
- Ensuring accurate and timely tax compliances
- Improving Operational Excellence by various initiatives.
- Process re-engineering and automation to deliver productivity.
- Optimize overall cost for Tax Cycle
- Bring year on Year improvement in KPI
3. Business Partnering:
- Strengthen the Partner Relationship Management model and continue to engage the stakeholders.
- Create best practice sharing forums.
- Support business in New Business Initiatives
4. Partnering People Management:
- Work closely with HR for developing a highly motivated team,
- Develop systems & procedures for succession planning, progressive employee training & development programmes & identify future leaders
- Talent development to support SSC growth through capability development Programme
Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience :
- Chartered Accountant with 15+ years of post-qualification experience in a large organization
- Experience in an SSC/ BPO/ KPO, in a Leadership Role
- Experience of working with SAP - ERP system
- Excellent communication and decision making skills
- Experience in Managing a large team
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to balance conflicting interest
- Experience and proven ability to function within a matrix organization
Must have technical/professional qualifications: Chartered accountancy with experience in taxation work (Preferably both direct and indirect)
Years of Experience: 15+ years of post-qualification experience
Industries: Telecom, FMCG, Manufacturing, Services
Ideal Organizations: Person should be from a fairly large organization and should have worked with multiple teams in matrix culture
Direct reports: 2-3 (Overall team size- around 70)
