GM - Direct Tax


Job Purpose : Part of the Group Corporate Taxation Team, leading one of the Two Teams, involved in direct tax compliances, litigation & advisory for the Vodafone Idea Group.


Key Result Areas/Accountabilities :


- Leading team of 4-5 person involved in direct tax compliances, litigation & advisory for the Vodafone Idea Group. This role involves assuming responsibility & contribution to following:

- Working with Team to ensure direct tax compliances

- Preparation & working towards formidable & well thought litigation strategy including counsel, approach, position, etc. for timely disposal of pending litigations

- Analysing & advising on various tax issues in relation to transactions, business initiatives, etc.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience :

- Proficiency in Corporate Tax including Income Tax Act, Transfer Pricing, Cross-border Taxation and Mergers & Acquisition

- Strong analytical and research skills along with excellent written communication/articulation skills

- Able to self-execute assignments when need arise to ensure meeting of timelines & ensuring that she/he leads by example in quality and smart-work

- Sound managerial & supervisory skills to manage the team, co-ordination with consultants/counsels, regular interaction with Clusters and Shared Service Centre (SSC) tax team.

Must have technical / professional qualifications :

- Chartered Account with 10 to 15 years of post-qualification experience

- Extensive work experience in Indian Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing & Cross-border Transaction

- Dual experience of working in Consultancy & Corporate will be preferred
