The Pricing & Monetization team is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and driven individual who will help lead our New Product and Service Introductions for End User Computing and Cloud Infrastructure Business units. You will also be leading key SaaS transformation projects that would drive VMWare's SaaS and Subscription business.

The Pricing & Monetization team provides exposure to multiple business areas and opportunities for applying your creativity, problem-solving skills, and leadership skills.

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

The pricing & Monetization team is seeking a passionate and driven Senior manager based out of Bangalore, India, who will lead a team and help develop and stabilize our Run the business and change the business activities. In this role, you will:

- Be Accountable for managing a team

- Actively participate in the development of junior team members and motivate the team to become a high-performance team

- Be Accountable for Mentoring, Training, and Career development of team members

- Provide overall business direction to ensure that all team members are in alignment with both department and business goals

- Recommending improvements on Pricing & monetization processes based on feedback gathered from different stakeholders

- Drive or Support Projects and Continuous improvement initiatives as needed

- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Pricing and monetization domain

- Driving the team to own and deliver cross-functional projects end to end.

- Co-ordinating and working in liaison with globally spread-out team members and other function

- Be Accountable for the Quality, Timeliness, and Completeness of various Pricing & Monetization activities managed by the team

- Liaise with various Business stakeholders and build bridges for collaboration

- Represent Pricing & Monetization team in various forums and be able to play the role of a high-level

- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various Perpetual, SaaS, and Subscription operations

- Provide Project Management support for various Projects and Initiatives as needed

- Display dynamic engagement i.e., Lead when needed and be hands-on when needed

What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

- You will become part of an experienced and global management team that is driving various pricing and monetization activities from across India, Costa Rica, and Bulgaria

- From the first day on the job, you would assume the people management responsibilities for a team of Business analysts that will be based in Bangalore

- During your first 3 months on the job, you will be expected to build your knowledge in the various functional areas of the pricing team's charter and drive the training for your team. You will be expected to start ramping up your team's functional engagements by working with other global team members

- Between 3-6 months, you will be expected to stabilize our processes and start contributing productively by delivering various time-based deliverables with expected quality. For this, you will work with your peer and senior leaders.

- By the end of 1 year, you will be expected to drive multiple pricing and monetization deliverables independently. You will be participating/managing multiple strategic initiatives both locally and globally

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing regularly?

- Lead and manage a group of about 10 business analysts based in India, Costa Rica, and Bulgaria.

- Develop, lead, and inspire the team. Drive talent development and functional depth in the team

- Demonstrate energy and passion around making an organization run efficiently with an extreme focus on quality and customer success. Drive continuous improvements in functional productivity and improve the scalability, reliability, resiliency, performance, and quality of our deliverables. Promote a culture oriented towards quality and customer success

- Establish a strong collaborative culture with peers and other functions within VMware. Promote a culture of success, pride, performance, discipline, and creativity. Be an effective spokesperson and champion for the Pricing team

- Promote a culture oriented towards quality and customer success

- Develop intimate knowledge of various Pricing ops deliverables like SKU creation, Pricing setups, Marketplace Operations, Case management, M&A operations, E2E testing, Price Books, License configurations, etc.

- Over a while, develop functional knowledge to participate and in some cases lead various project engagements like SaaS and Subscription Commerce Platform (SSCP), NSI 3.0, Product Master, CPQ, SAP, General Pricing Action (GPA), etc.

- What Professional experience and educational qualifications will help in this role:

MBA preferred :

- 12+ years of industry experience in Pricing, Product Operations, or Monetization domain in an Enterprise Software business or an ISV or a Technology company

- Must have directly led a team for more than 4-5 years. It would be an added advantage if you have had directs reporting from multiple geographies

- Experience in Hi-Tech Domain, Cloud Computing, SaaS / PaaS / IaaS would be preferable

- Experience in the Pricing domain would be an added advantage

- Working experience on platforms like Oracle EBS, SAP, Salesforce, and Informatica would be an added advantage

- Any experience in Enterprise Systems like Pricing Setup Systems, CPQ Systems, Billing Systems, Order Management Systems, SFDC systems, Oracle/SAP ERP systems, etc. would be an advantage

- A practical sense and ability to implement, latest tools and technology

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to thrive and guide the team in demanding environments that impose new challenges frequently

- Demonstrate ability to deal with ambiguity and be able to manage Crucial conversations

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

- You will report to a Director of Pricing & Monetization team. You will be matrixed to many of the other leaders in the team with whom you will need to work closely. This role will require you to work closely with many functional stakeholders.

Where is this role located?

- This role will be based in Bangalore, India. The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
