Vikram Solar - Maintenance Lead (10-15 yrs)

Primary Responsibilities :

Strategic :

- Provide technical inputs for future capacity expansion ensuring optimum utilization of internal resources and appropriate selection of new equipment- s

Financial:

- Provide necessary inputs towards finalization of budget of the unit by providing estimate for m/c maintenance & utility budget and ensure adherence to the same

- Drive cost savings through energy conservation, effective spare management etc

Process :

- Develop asset criticality index and identify critical machines and equipment to develop specific preventive maintenance procedures in discussion with production

- Lead major plant shutdowns and overhauls in conjunction with production and production planning departments to minimize plan downtime and production loss

- Co-develop and enhance maintenance procedures (e.g SOPs) and practices through benchmarking with the best in class processes

- Lead development of all maintenance plans and schedules and ensure adherence to the same; Initiate and manage plant maintenance based on best practices in the PV module industry, with example on planning/scheduling & preventive/predictive maintenance.

- Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance; Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions

- Ensure reporting and review of plant efficiency in dimensions including output, uptime and utilization, m/c safety and overtime costs; analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance - related problems.

- Provide technical assistance to analyze mechanical failures/ breakdown in equipment and solving critical equipment problems/ failures ; Ensure upkeep of equipment wise maintenance record and expenditure, and provide analysis of the same to Senior Management as and when required

- Review and analyze the breakdowns of repetitive nature occurring in the plant and find a solution to the same with the maintenance team

- Ensure minimal outages of the plant through regularly conducting preventive and predictive maintenance

- Ensure effective spares management for all equipment and machinery in the plant in coordination with Head - Stores; Monitor spare parts availability to maintain balance between level of inventory and reduction in breakdown time

- Ensure uninterrupted supply of air (compressed and blower), water (RO water, drinking water and toilet water)and vacuum adhering to quality and quantity requirements and treatment of utility discharged in a cost effective and environment friendly manner

- Identify and negotiate with vendors to carry out operations related to machine overhaul, AMCs for Utilities etc.; Make vendor recommendations to Plant - Head for finalization

- During forced outages, ensure minimum downtime by overseeing coordination and smooth operation of maintenance activities

- Implement key process improvement initiatives to be taken-up in maintenance department (such as ISO, Six Sigma, PMS, etc.) from time to time by in accordance with organizational guidelines

- Support organizational policies related to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures and shop floor cleanliness (5S etc); Develop processes such as emergency preparedness plan and monitor compliance to statutory regulations

- Oversee training content development and training delivery of plant staff on aspects related to m/c maintenance, safety standards

People:

- Drive a performance driven culture in the organization by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members

- Contribute towards development of talent for the function by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles

- Actively participate as Function Head / Line Manager in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent and competent authority
