We are looking out for candidates who are having good exposure on IPV (Independent Price Verification) for one of the leading investment bank at Gurgaon.

Job Description:

GVG Governance and Strategy is responsible for oversight of valuation framework and reporting, ensuring that changes and updates to the regulatory and internal environment are understood and implemented effectively and consistently across LOB's.

Independent valuations is one of the primary controls to ensure accurate and consistent marking of transactions the bank has on its books. GVG is a cross product and cross region function within the CFO function that is responsible for governance, oversight, challenge, development and enhancement work around the valuations framework.

The valuations framework includes:

- Independent Price Verification (IPV): Which is the process of comparing internal prices and parameters used to mark position valuations to a corresponding set of independently verifiable external prices and parameters.

- Valuation Adjustments (VAs): Which are balance sheet adjustments taken to reflect:

The close out costs of positions:

Model deficiencies or approximate bookings that may cause material mismarks of positions.

- Coordinating regular regulatory disclosures. Including, amongst others, Prudent Valuation, Fair Value Hierarchy.

- Regulatory and Management Reporting

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a lead for the India Valuations Governance and Strategy group which sits within the CFO Global Valuations Group (GVG).

- Ownership of the Team's daily, monthly and quarterly processes

- Principal point of escalation for the team. Expected to own issues through to resolution and support staff in delivery

- Communicate effectively & escalate issues to senior management in a timely and thorough manner

- Coordinate and Execute book of work in line with pre-agreed project milestones/deliverables

- Working with management to action People, Process & Technology initiatives across functions

- Build strong/influential relationships and serves as key contact across CFO globally and business partners

- Establish a continuous process improvement environment within the team

- Execute and integrate new capabilities, as driven by local, regional and global objectives

- Attract, retain and grow talent

- Lead high performing teams through culture of strong employee and community engagement

- Build a culture and process to identify, mitigate, and control operational risk

- Responsible for proper communication and compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

Skill Level Description

Postgraduate degree or accounting qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant - CA) CGPA - 60% Advanced education and/or enhanced technical qualifications are a plus or MBA from Reputed Institutes

Industry, Finance or Product Control experience 10/12+ years of relevant experience Candidate should have a keen interest in the Fixed Income /FX product set, preferably with a good understanding of the products used (see above) and their pricing

Excel skills Intermediate Good working understanding of Excel is a must; ability to troubleshoot spreadsheet issues is also critical

Management skills - Personnel & Process Intermediate The right individual will be a team leader and can multi-task to manage the challenges of GVG processes and personnel on an independent basis yet have the awareness to escalate potential issues to management in a timely manner.

Good communication skills. Proficiency in English a must Candidate must have a proven track record of communicating effectively with personnel from various areas within an organization and at different management levels

Preferred Requirements:

Skill Level Description

Access/ VBA skills Intermediate Ability to use Access or VBA would enhance the candidate's attractiveness significantly

Competencies:

- Understanding of the FICC or Equity business and can apply Financial Accounting and reporting expertise

- Understanding of the Regulatory and reporting environment around Valuations

- Proven track record in building/strengthening front-to-back controls

- Ability to build SME knowledge within the group - provide appropriate level of business, product & process training to the team

- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyse business processes and workflows and delivery required project to a high standard

- Effective communication skills with English proficiency

- Demonstrated ability to work in a high pressure environment

- Takes initiative and challenges existing processes and procedures in a proactive manner

- Strong team player

- Ability to analyse issues independently and derive solutions

- Ability & confidence to tackle new concepts and ideas associate with ongoing change in the business

- Ability to coordinate/ multi task and deliver to deadlines

- A - Can do- attitude

- Analytical skills
