Vice President - Stress Testing - Financial Services (10-17 yrs)

UK Planning and Stress Testing:

Stress Testing:

- Owns the stress testing governance framework and operating model for UK / RFB for capital stress tests

- Manages the primary oversight committee for Stress Testing, Stress Test SteerCo - manages the agenda, moderates presentation content, ensures appropriate governance discharged for all stress testing related matters

- Owns key stress testing material for presentation to internal and external stakeholders, including CFO, CRO, Board, Board Risk Committee and regulators

- Ensures appropriate framework for stress test results review and challenge is in place

- Provides commercial insight, review and challenge into stress test results

- Drafts and updates content for Stress Testing Frameworks, Operating Models, Policies, Standards and Instructions

- Owns the qualitative self-assessment of stress testing capabilities against the BCBS Principles of Stress Testing

- Represents Stress testing outcomes in the ICAAP and other regulatory returns

Planning:

- Helps drive the narrative for the annual High Level Shape and Medium Term Plans for UK on the agenda set by the Group / Group Planning

- Works with Group Strategy to ensure the firm's Strategic priorities help drive the Planning process

- Provides commercial insight and content for Group planning documents

The role works closely with:

- The various CoEs within Planning & Stress testing Finance Transaction Cycle (FTC) who lead the operational delivery of the planning and stress testing process

- Treasury who own the capital plan, a key component of UK plans and capital stress tests

- Capital Risk, who are responsible for the scenario design/expansion and second line oversight of the stressed capital plans

- SMEs in Risk, Finance and Treasury on coordination of coherent objectives, principles, methodology and points of regulatory interpretation

- Model owners and first line submitters to ensure appropriate capture of model risk and provide independent challenge to their results where appropriate

- Senior management reporting and insights and ensuring the coherence of the front to back narrative to enable challengeWhat will you be doing?

- Contribute to the Planning & Stress testing Office responsibilities across all 3 areas of team scope: Stress Testing, Planning

- Provide senior management reporting and insight on stress testing results.

- Produce insightful and easy to consume Planning & Stress Testing board & Exco material

- Understand the commercial drivers of the businesses and be able to articulate these to the wider team and management

- Contribute to the Planning & Stress Testing Office's central review and challenge capability by analysing business submissions for plausibility and commercial logic against benchmark data

- Manage regulatory related matters in regards to stress testing, ensuring action plans are established and monitored to remediate regulatory feedback.

- Deliver Planning & Stress Testing related content for the ICAAP

- Produce minutes and tracking actions from key committees, such as Stress Test SteerCo

- Deliver high quality MI with a challenging but positive influential style, in order to make recommendations off the back of detailed analytical work

- Be an effective team player with excellent communication skills and have a reputation for integrity, which can evoke rapid trust and confidence in clients, colleagues and their team.

- Logical and thoughtful approach to work and the ability to multi-task/work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Pays careful attention to detail, whilst also considering the big picture and wider implications.

- Expectation to provide thought leadership to the ongoing development and enhancement of stress testing capabilitiesWhat we're looking for:

- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to broker decisions with varied teams across the bank

- Conscientious, disciplined and detailed where necessary

- A proactive, self-starter, who is can be relied upon to act on initiative

- Highly developed problem solving skills. Demonstration of proposing innovative solutions to problem statements or facilitating SME judgements to arrive at appropriate conclusions

- Ability to understand and analyse complex problems and execute a plan to deliver effective tactical and strategic solutions.

- Operating at varying levels of detail (strategic to close attention) and able to prioritise key activities globally.

- Demonstration of delivery of quality outputs to tight timeframes. Technical / Qualifications:

- Broad knowledge of all banking products, business flows and technologies

- An understanding of and some level of experience of stress testing requirements and planning processes

- Preference for a candidate with a background in a Decision Support (BP&A / FP&A) function
