Vice President - Pursuits professional-Strong Financial Research background


The opportunity:

The main aim of role is to spearhead set of pursuits professionals and provide strategical insights in delivery of 'go to market' pitches including origination packs, industry analysis and thought leadership paper. The incumbent is expected to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key sector leaders and Account leads.

Sector expertise required in one or more sectors: Life Sciences, Healthcare, Financial Services, TMT, Consumer & Retail, Industrials & Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Private Equity or Infrastructure. Evaluate Digital Strategies and Transformation opportunities across sectors.

Your key responsibilities:

The role of Pursuits will include the following:

- Provide dynamic and agile leadership to achieve growth and innovation in services. Build new markets and generate demand for our services through continuous dialogue with stakeholders

- Develop deep understanding of the markets and key clients to identify opportunities for new services and solutions, that drive sustainable growth and future-proof our business; lead conversations with stakeholders with consulting and problem-solving mindset

- Lead high-complexity engagements and critical account relationships to build a successful partnership and become a trusted advisor to clients and our onsite leaders

- Adopt new-age technology to enhance value of output and efficiency in processes; drive team towards continuous innovation in services and ways of working

- Provide market insights to our client pitches and thought leadership through various research tools and domain experience.

- Hands on experience in sourcing, analysing and synthesising of data to derive actionable insights and contribute to clients required strategy in the areas of M&A, business improvement and opportunity assessments

- Develop in depth knowledge on one of the focus sectors for our SaT, to be able to add value while analyzing financial and strategic information of clients, and identifying opportunities based on market developments

- Quality review of work completed by the team members and provide strategic inputs

- Proactively develop new products/services and solutions for delivering insights and winning in markets in consultation with our practices

- Measure, monitor and improve client service by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery

- Conduct timely performance reviews of team and help in developing and guiding by providing effective performance feedback/training and ensuring that team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.

- Be a transformative team leader and lead the team towards excellence and highest level of performance by providing diverse opportunities and motivation; create a culture of strong teaming and sense of belongingness through an open-minded and compassionate approach

- Strengthen diversity and inclusiveness in the team by proactive interventions aligned with our priorities

Skills and attributes for success

1. Experience of having worked in the following types of firms and the following types of service offerings:

- Experience of having worked in a similar research organization, consulting major like the Big 4 or financial Research firms, investment banking, or a management consulting firm

- Large Indian corporates with exposure in planning & strategy, corporate finance , business development role. Equity research role in KPOs/Captives

2. Required understanding of business development including:

- Affinity towards one or two sectors

- Strong communication and business writing skills

- Good understanding of corporate transactions and funding mechanisms


- Ability to ascertain risks and opportunity areas, assess findings and communicate insights


- Experience in undertaking sector studies and analyzing merger and acquisition (M&A) drivers for a given sector or transaction

3. Experience in interacting with senior management of clients

4. Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in developing final presentations

To qualify for the role, you must have

- Master's degree OR MBA OR Master's in business administration or CFA

- 15+ years of work experience in research firms, Big 4s, consulting firms, Investment Banking, etc.

- A demonstrated ability to build and manage a dynamic and highly motivated team

- The demonstrated ability to work within a given budget and schedule, ensuring top-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Ideally, you'll also have :

- Project management skills

- Exposure to Digital Technologies and understanding of AI / ML leverage within sectors

- Exposure to tools like Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx etc.
