Vice President - Operations - Manufacturing - IIT/NIT/BITS/IIIT/DCE/NITIE (6-14 yrs)

As Vice President of Operations you have an overall responsibility and accountability for the Supply Chain function.

Our client is a leading start-up organization formed by IIT graduates and is also recognised by DST, FICCI and Government for India for their product which controls the pollution levels and converts the particle matter into daily use products. They have an excellent clientele and are now working towards more sustainable solutions. They are looking for a Vice President-Operations to be based out of their Pune setup.

Reporting into the COO and managing a direct team of 5 (Quality Control, Vendor Management, Fabrication, Field operations and Production), you will be responsible for:

- Using various processes and methods to transform raw materials, components and parts into finished goods for customers to required standards of quality, cost, delivery and safety.

- Managing vendors and suppliers for outsourced components and raw material

- Managing dispatch, transportation, installation and maintenance through field teams

- Creating and implementing best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance

- Ensuring that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market

- Providing design for manufacturing input at early stages in the new product development process, coordinating with and supporting the new product development team to implement new and revised designs and developing effective processes to ensure manufacturability of product while maintaining quality, safety and environmental standards and achieving cost targets.

- Operating a process for safe selection of external contractors. Coordinating with the Head of Purchasing ensure all external maintenance contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure best value.

- Ensuring timely and high-quality delivery, installation and maintenance of all equipment

Ideally you are mechanical/industrial/production engineer from a Tier 1 institute (IIT/NIT/BITS/IIIT/DCE/NITIE) and has atleast 6 years of production operations experience in a make to order industry where fabrication operations are also involved. You should be ready to work in a startup environment. You should have excellent communication and leadership skills. You should have demonstrated excellent track record of success in your earlier career and should be ready for your next challenging assignment.
