Full Job Description

This newly created position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will report directly to the Top Management and manages the quality, manufacturing functions globally. This leader is accountable for end-to-end product quality and manufacturing processes worldwide and is responsible for shaping long-term strategy while relentlessly focusing on consistent and superior fabrication and delivery of high-quality products to consumers.

General Responsibilities:

The SVP of Quality and Manufacturing is responsible for setting and executing a global strategy for a worldwide quality and manufacturing. They will lead offshoring and manufacturing success inside Country and globally. To accomplish this, they will lead an organization consisting of a team of associates tasked with ensuring end-to-end product quality and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle globally consisting of manufacturing lines across all suppliers/sub suppliers. This leader is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance engineering, in-process and final inspection, supplier/vendor QA engineering, and process excellence programs for the organization.

Additionally, they will lead manufacturing functions globally and will play a key role in shaping manufacturing sourcing strategy corporately while overseeing the flow of the organization- s products from development through production, including the planning of production schedules, coordinating materials requirements, and formulating and recommending manufacturing policies and programs.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for overseeing inspection on all outbound products.

- Lead Reliability of the groups

- Manage inspection force in China as well as 3rd party Inspection and Test Services.

- Manage returns centres and develops remediation strategies.

- Manage remanufacturing partners where appropriate.

- Partner with PD and Engineering to strengthen and improve quality and manufacturing processes with a goal of zero defects on all outbound shipments.

- Actively mentors and leads organization of over 150 managers and associates focusing on career acceleration, talent development and succession planning

- Serve as point of contact internally and externally on Quality issues and best practices.

- Serve as company's external Quality ambassador in industry forums.

- Responsible for ensuring all Quality related processes are followed and for continuous improvement of processes related to inspection and the training on those processes.

- Responsible for disseminating information relating to quality and counterfeiting of parts and developing and implementing new methods to identify.

- Provide support to customers (as a point of escalation) when any quality issues arise; prepare corrective action and follow up on implementation and close out.

- Conduct counterfeit inspection and reports unresolved issues appropriately.

- Responsible for maintaining all Quality certifications and identifying other certifications deemed necessary.

- Ensure professional development plans for direct reports are in place and delivered.

- Continuously drives process and design improvements via Six Sigma, PFMEA, DFMEA, DFA, and DFMs.

Requirements:

- Successful candidates will have significant global experience and have deep experience running international quality and manufacturing organizations, with specific experience in Korean & Japanese a plus, and will possess a track record of success leading an organization focused on customer satisfaction. Additionally, this leader must possess an intense attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, possess strong cultural awareness and demonstrate the ability to collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced team environment. Technical background preferred,

- MBA a plus, in addition to 20+ Years Post-graduate Experience required (Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals/Oil & Gas/Heavy Engineering Industry Preferred)
