Vice President/Managing Director - Private Equity Business (7-12 yrs)

Firm: A leading Private Equity firm with an India-dedicated investing strategy. It currently has over $1 bn under management, and a portfolio of companies across three funds along with a stellar track record of wealth creation in partnership with entrepreneurs and investors.

Location: Mumbai, Hyderabad

Role: VP/Managing Director

Job Summary: 


You will be a key contributor to scaling the India private equity business and will:

i) Co-lead sector-based sourcing and relationship development,

ii) Lead deal teams in making and managing long-term, sizeable direct private equity investments across India, and

iii) Actively manage portfolio companies through board responsibilities.

You Will Be Responsible For:

- Leading the execution of transactions, maintaining clear oversight of deals and key relationships

- Taking innovative approaches that create investment value, e.g. creative approaches to finding information & unique deal structures

- Being a key contributor to Investment Committee discussions and approvals

- Contributing to the overall strategy of the firm

- Helping support the origination of attractive investment opportunities and developing value-added relationships

- Representing the firm on key portfolio Boards as required

- Support the development of a high performing and diverse team

Qualifications:

- Significant years of private equity or a combination of private equity and strategy/management or investment banking experience with a proven track record of successful investments or operating experience

- An identifiable track record as a relationship builder and recognized for being immediately impactful

- Proven experience in executing successful deals

- Solid, demonstrated experience coaching and developing deal teams

- Experience managing relationships with portfolio companies, co-shareholders and other stakeholders

- Superior interpersonal skills, with excellent skills as a communicator (oral and written) and as a presenter

- Professionalism and integrity

- Excellent judgement and - sense of a deal.

- Willingness to travel extensively

- Flexibility, adaptability, initiative and creativity
