Vice President - LMU (Loan Management Unit)


The broad role responsibilities include:


- Providing dedicated leadership, subject matter expertise and oversight to LMU Offshore teams across various regions.

- Engaging strategically with regions to review the current state of offshore support and position offshore to migrate higher value work.

- Creating an ambience leading to overall value addition in terms of offshore support for LMU

- Standardizing and streamlining offshore operations across various regions and delivering economies of scale.

- Taking leadership responsibility to enhance offshoring value proposition for LMU.

- Training / mentoring / coaching various offshore teams and junior managers to continually upgrade knowledge and skills.

- Participate in credit / risk meetings with Front Office / WMR LMU colleagues.

- Closely monitor risk events and be able to timely escalate as appropriate

- Prepare for audit, regulatory initiatives and internal projects pertaining to credit risk management

- Represent WMR Offshore in Shared Services and New Business initiatives / projects where required

- Have flexibility to travel, if required.

- Academics - Graduate degree in commerce/ economics/ management/ engineering. Qualifications in Finance/ CA/ ICWA/ CS/ CAIIB preferred.

- 14+ years of relevant experience in Large / Mid Corporate / SME Credit in a reputed Bank/ Financial Institution with at least 5 years of frontline LMU / distressed asset management experience. Background of customer negotiation / engagement with co-lenders, solicitors, etc. would be a definite plus.

- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit lending products

- Strong analytical skills to quickly interpret data & facts to arrive at meaningful conclusions

- Excellent interpersonal, English communication and negotiation skills

- Customer centric mind-set and strategic through process with an aptitude to see the big picture.

- Strong navigational mindset with self-starter attitude

- Ability / track record to manage large teams across sites

- Evidence of strong leadership skills / potential; coaching track record; stakeholder management across diverse cultures - established track record preferred

Additional Information :

- Offshoring of LMU was done by various regions independent of each other. As a result, there is wide variance in the type of work being handled by each regional offshore LMU team. The role holder must deftly consolidate the teams and put together a value proposition for offshore LMU. .

- The regions stretch from Hong Kong to Vancouver in terms of time zones. The role holder must manage time to engage with stakeholders across these time zones.

- With increased reliance on offshore teams by WMR, the LMU function deserves focused leadership from an SME. The role holder must be well in sync with distressed asset management, rehabilitation methodologies and legal frameworks.

- The role holder must have the aptitude and skills to transfer SM expertise to others in the team.
