VP - GTRF Digital Transformation Lead

Role purpose (overall high level summary of the role):

- The GTRF Digital Transformation Lead is a management role within the Wholesale OT function, working with peers & Business partners across strategic transformation programmes. The role holder will enable capabilities across a multitude of disciplines to share best practices, thought leadership and influence design and development of the OT end state capabilities, CoEs and transformation services within Wholesale & Global Operations.

- This role requires a leader with experience in design and execution of a digital transformation within this domain, end to end relationship, strategic change orchestration and large scale multi-faceted portfolio and programme delivery. This is a 2-year transformation role in Global Operations and will own the strategic accountability for GTRF Operations. This programme is part of the wider Bank Wide Operations Transformation (Global Operations 2023-2026) and will report up to the Global Head of Operations Transformation.

- The role is to lead the transformation programme including management of change delivery teams in the programme structure in order to deliver an agreed set of business objectives and meeting the overarching portfolio strategy. The role holder is required to engage and manage a wide spectrum of senior stakeholders and partners across Operations Transformation (OT), Global Operations and the wider bank.

- This role will comprise of multiple complex programmes and change priorities and will be responsible for a portfolio of c. 9M over 2023-2026. The programmes of work in this portfolio requires interaction with governance at the top level of the Bank stakeholders.

- This role will be responsible for the delivery of step change sustainable transformation. The customer, financial, quality and value outcomes of the strategic investment will be driven by this role holder. This is a senior leadership position with influence at Wholesale Operations Leadership, Global Business Unit and Global / Regional Service Units across multiple areas of the Bank and will work across and within the end to end matrix organisation. The role holder will be part of the Ops Transformation Executive Committee.

- As well as leading a team of change delivery professionals on assignment to their portfolios, this role will also work in partnership with peers across OT to influence and develop the capabilities, align and drive Global Operations business imperatives and work with executives, leaders and teams across the functional and geographic landscape.

Leadership & Teamwork:

- Develop and communicate a powerful and compelling vision for the portfolio that inspires and engages people.

- Lead, develop and motivate the OT leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of objectives.

- Set expectations, share best practice and manage, monitor, coach and develop process excellence leaders and the wider delivery teams to ensure that they maximise their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities and experience.

- Drive and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.

- Maintain a strong focus on people development and ensure programme resources receive necessary training.

- Drive a performance management based culture to improve and drive efficiencies and performance including the effective management of underperformers, motivate and inspire the colleagues and drive proactive communications with respect to the BWOT (Global Operations 2023-2026).

- Target - Engage our workforce to maximise contribution and commitment.

- Measure - Quarterly Snapshot survey score.

Functional Knowledge :

- RF Domain transformation experience essential especially if CDCS etc

- Experienced project management, leading, communicating and implementing Global/multi-business change (5 years). Ability to maintain control, direction and motivation in an ever-changing environment.

- Track record in delivering financial & non-financial results (customer, colleague, control and cost outcomes)

- Collaborate across functions to define and execute a Book of work to deliver customer, colleague, control and cost outcomes

- Knowledge & experience of change methodology ie, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Product owner, scrum master etc

- Highly effective and persuasive communication skills - both verbal and written.

- Flexible and a sharp mind, ability to connect the dots and learn

- Great team and people management

- Ability to manage & engage multiple stakeholders, meet their expectations, negotiate in situations of conflicting interests and influence key decision makers in a positive manner

- Familiarity with typical operations transformation levers / frameworks

- Proficiency with numbers and ability to change data into insights

- Practice navigating and influencing in matrix & globally dispersed environments (teams, internal stakeholders, clients, management)Experience and understanding of the banking environment incl. regulatory framework will be an important asset

- Understanding of Wholesale preferred, non-essential

- Strategic outlook with the orientation to deliver projects involving wide dimensions and different nature of complexities.

- Statistical ability to analyze complex numerical data and provide logical recommendations /observations.
