The Role

Join us as a Principal Architect, and manage delivering on a scalable & distributed Risk data Store using java AND/OR scala and big data technologies.

You will work in Risk IT, Natwest Markets, Provides critical tools and controls for managing the economic health of our businesses. The unit provides; Expertise & Insight, Data & Tools, High quality and stable platforms which fits for Front Office, Risk and Finance.

This role is based in the Foundry, Risk IT Team at Natwest Markets, Gurgaon.

Foundry is a cross asset risk storage and aggregation engine used by Front Office, Finance and Market Risk for EOD and INTRA day risk viewing and aggregation, and for regulatory reporting.

Additionally Foundry is/will be used for:

- Hedging risk, checking EOD and INTRA day PNL, and identify cases of rogue trading.

- Regulatory checks for Independent Price Verification and Prudential Valuation.

- FRTB and RDAR Reporting

- Finance IPV, Pruval and PNL attribution storage and regulatory compliance

Your Responsibilities

As a Principal Architect, your key responsibilities will include:

- Provide technical leadership in the area of work

- Design and develop high quality, scalable and maintainable code using java/j2ee/scala for distributed systems

- Must have worked on a big data estate and has working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem or Apache Spark

- Understanding the functional requirements and breaking them into technical deliverables

- Collaborating with globally distributed teams in India, London and Bulgaria

- Mentor other junior developers on the team

The Skills you'll need

In order to be successful in this role, you must have the following skills & experience:

- 10+ years of IT development experience in Java/J2EE and/or Scala

- Experience on Java, spring, hibernate, concurrent programming, maven, unix shell scripting

- Must have worked on a big data estate and has knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem or Apache Spark

- Expertise in building large scale distributed systems, working closely with the global stakeholders

- Strong communication and influencing skills

- Preferably experience working in captive or product development working with global teams

- Prior experience building solutions for investment banking, or financial domain will be an added advantage
