Description of Manager - VP IT Head

Client is looking for a VP - IT whose primary objective is to create a digital infrastructure that will make IT as a competitive advantage to the business.

Roles/ Responsibilities - 

- Analyze the current technology infrastructure and align it with the business strategic plans. Work closely with other C-level executives to create strategic plans for the company's future growth.

- Enhance the communication system for the company, including network infrastructure, wide area connectivity, etc.

- Establish a robust Governance mechanism for IT projects

- Ensure the security of our IT assets as well as proprietary, sensitive information from external as well as internal attacks.

- Deliver on the IT department's operative goals and objectives as well as SLAs for system availability.

- Work closely with project managers to ensure optimum allocation and utilization of technology resources.

- Ensure that the IT operations adhere to local laws in all the countries that we operate

- Recruit and supervise technology staff within the CIO organization

- Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the company to ensure the computer capabilities are responsive to the needs of the company's growth and objectives.

- Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.

- Review and approve major contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment.

- Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.

- Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.

- Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.

- Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

- Serve on planning and policy-making committees.

Education/Skills - 

- B.E or B.Tech preferably with an MBA or equivalent from Tier 1 or Tier 2 B-School from India

- 17-25 years of work experience with sound understanding of the business role of the CIO

- Ability to comprehend various business and customer issues/requirements and translate them to measurable actions

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communications skills.

- Self-motivated, - go-getter- with a keen sense of ownership and knack of getting things done.

- Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment, ability to think beyond the current boundaries, question the status quo structure/functions and recommend and effect changes

- Exceptional interpersonal skills - a temperament that is personable, energetic, responsive, and confident. Along with cultural sensitivity and work as a team player. Ability to mentor and network.
