Vice President - Investment Banking - Real Estate Sector (5-11 yrs)

Position Description

The VP will join the Gurgaon office and will be responsible for utilizing their knowledge of the market as well as their relationship and the brand/resources of the firm to develop new client relationships as well as arrange real estate financing (including debt and equity) as an intermediary for commercial real estate developers and investors.

Successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the origination and underwriting of new business opportunities in Real Estate.

Essential Responsibilities :

Lead internal teams through all phases of business/private equity transactions, including:

- Developing marketing presentations

- Structuring

- Due diligence

- Credit approval

- Documentation

- Syndication

- Ability to multitask and prioritize amongst many transactions is critical.

- Collaborate closely with other teams such as Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk and Middle Office to help with the formation of syndication and credit opinions and create actionable recommendations for clients.

- Strengthen the team's relationships with its key sponsor clients in the Indian Private Equity sector

Other Responsibilities Include :

- The VP will be responsible for new client development and origination along with structuring and placing debt and equity transactions on behalf of the firm's clients.

- End to end servicing of requirements of real estate developers

- Developing complex financial cash flow models using MS Excel covering all aspects of the capital stack (debt, mezzanine, equity, JV Partnerships, etc.), including complex equity returns, IRR calculations and waterfalls.

- Contributing to new business ideas and products by researching potential clients, and developments in the markets, presenting findings and recommendations

- Gathering and evaluating detailed economic, demographic and real estate market data on deals in process.

- Preparing presentations, offering memoranda and financial reports.

- Reviewing and analyzing legal documents and other materials as part of the due diligence process or as part of on- going property oversight.

- Aiding in the preparation of proposals, presentations and reports.

- Interacting with clients, prospective buyers and investors.

Requirements :

- Previous originations experience with a real estate intermediary (or equivalent experience) or with Investment Banks or Corporate Banking teams

- Strong financial / analytical / modeling skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Be an independent worker with a team player attitude
