Vice President - Global Markets - BFSI/BPO/KPO (12-18 yrs)

Individual manages a team or multiple teams in global markets operations supporting Derivatives and FX functions in one or more product areas (Confirmation, Settlement, Reconciliation, Investigation etc.).

Manages operations functions that typically have a high level of regulatory risk, monetary exposure and loss potential due to transaction size and daily production windows, which can impact client relationships.

Manages daily activities ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards and adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements.

Develops and implements new processes and procedures to improve operating efficiency, timeliness and workflow coordination.

May have responsibility for or provide input on budget/expense management, reporting and forecasting.

Requires full working knowledge of global markets operations functions and specific products/services managed.

Leads and directs the work of others and ensures staffing levels and capacity are appropriate to meet production requirements.

Interacts with business partners and their support groups (Compliance, Audit, Finance, etc.), as well as external clients.

Directly manages 4-12 associates and has a department of 40 - 100 associates and may cover multiple shifts/sites.

Key responsibilities include:

- Become proficient in the E2E confirmation and Settlement processes . Partner with the other regional teams to help move this team into a true global service model

- Pro-actively challenge the status quo, identify and drive change to improve upon the current model

- Inject governance, reporting and transparency into the day to day activities

- Negotiate delicate decision points around the function using a commercial, control and pragmatic mind-set

Requirements:

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

- B.Com or MBA Finance

- Previous Derivatives and FX Operations experience covering multiple functions

- Familiarity with markets products ideally in more than one asset class

- Previous client facing skills ideally with an operational context

- Proven track record (5+ years) of multi-tasking, able to juggle multiple priorities

- Relationship management skills

- Partnership and communication skills

- Presentation skills, able to summarise messages

- Strong assertiveness, listening, influencing and diplomacy skills.

- Ability to run effective meetings
