Vice President - Financial Controller - BFSI

To lead the Finance & Accounts functions for the company (accounts, finance, auditing, Secretarial and legal functions) and look after the implementation of the following:

1. Support the Business heads in preparation of the financial plan (Annual Operating plan - AOP), presentation to board and approval.

2. Assist the Business heads to develop critical scorecards and agree on review schedules. Enable the reviews.

3. Accountable for accurate MIS system, which helps drive the business measures, especially financial ones (Top line, Margins, Expenses etc). leads the monthly financial reviews and assists Board to review monthly business and financial performance.

4. Responsible for all financial statements: P&L and Balance sheet preparation to meet statutory standards and achieve effective closures.

5. Establish Costing standards and advice functions on costs on a regular basis: assist the top management to review and decide appropriate costing guidelines for long term strategies as well as pricing regularly.

6. Facilitate in creating expense budgets for various functions and assist in review and remedy actions.

7. Assists the board in meetings through effective coordination, preparation of documents and minutes submission. Fully responsible for all ROC related compliance.

8. Represents the company to banking and financial institutions. Leads credit assessments and management.

9. Responsible for entire gamut of statutory compliance relating to Banks (borrowing), ROC, Income Tax and legal.

10. Looks after all the insurance-related processes - starting from review of new proposals to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Be responsible and ensure for achieving both topline and bottom line as per AOP.

- SOPC for all business operation and legal matters.

- P& L Preparation: Lead the team to prepare the monthly P&L, Balance sheet and cash flow along with reasons for deviations; location wise, product group wise. Also track the profitability.

- Set up systems for all MIS (mostly through internal BI platform and few outside BI): contribution, top line, expenses etc

- Strict adherence to all statutory compliances.

- Ensure regular audits are carried out on time for the operations of the company and responsible for establishing internal control.

- Ensure that adequate insurance coverage is done where required. Select vendors and negotiate for best terms. Ensure on time payment and settlements (work with HR in employee-related insurance issues)

- Prepare the finance Manual for the company and ensure implementation. Reviews same periodically and keep it updated.

- Costing: provide a supporting role in new product costing. Also help in reviewing existing costing and understand deviations. Assist the management team to analyze the costing and fix pricing and budget items.

- Budgeting: CFO / CEO to create the annual operating plan (AOP) in line with the company's short-term objectives. Jobholder role will be to:

a) Provide necessary input to all department heads and guide them to prepare their own budget

b) Collect the various data, check and put it together to create the AOP

c) Prepare the draft AOP and submit for discussion. Facilitate the discussion on the budget and help to conclude on AOP

- Cash flow: prepare cash flow statements on agreed frequency (weekly/fortnightly) and facilitate assist board to take financial decisions

- Finance and accounts functions should provide leadership in planning for a company's finance and bring in a culture of clean reporting and spending discipline. The Head of Finance will also be responsible for educating the various function and department heads.

- Legal & compliance - coordinating with lawyers and compliance authorities to handle legal issues, compliance requirements. Ensure compliance according to statutory norms and board advice.

- Borrowing leads the assessment, application-related processes. Discussions with potentials lenders.
