Job Description: With the functional reporting to the Group Chief Finance Officer and key member of Finance Executive Committee, the VP-Finance will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in the Finance & Reporting function and its technology parent. He/she will be responsible for managing and overseeing the work of the Finance Department, including Budget, Forecasting, Strategic Planning, Investor presentation and information, Accounting & Payments, and Procurement, while adhering to all related generally accepted accounting principles, tax and regulatory laws, rules and regulations to adequately and accurately reflect the financial position of the group at all times. Key Responsibilities: - Champion excellent management of financial resources, promoting probity, efficiency, high performance and overall value for money - Monitor strategic analysis and strategic planning, including leading to the development of the annual- and medium-term financial plans ensuring they reflect the organizations priorities and strategic objectives - Review financial and performance data, and provide financial insights/advice - Create a culture which empowers budget holders and staff, and supports the delivery of value-for money services, including reporting on benchmark information and key cost drivers - Reinforce internal controls to ensure that all operations are monitored and controlled against budget, compliance with organizations policies and regulatory guidelines - Complete appropriate statutory/regulatory returns and produce financial statements in accordance with the statutory legislation, practices and deadlines - Nurture excellent relationships with the External Auditors - Provide effective leadership and operational management of the finance team, ensuring that staff adopt the values and expected behaviors of the organization, to deliver a high performance culture - Influence decision-making where appropriate to achieve budget, targets and strategies Must Have Competencies: Business acumen: Should have a strategic outlook, matured with an ability to work with the management to build a large, commercially successful enterprise Leadership skills: Have the ability to train, mentor and motivate a growing team Influencing and stakeholder management skills: Possess necessary maturity and influencing skills to handle negotiations and manage external and internal stakeholders Analytical skills: Should be detail oriented, proactive to business changes and a team player willing take ownership where needed Commercial Acumen Key Competencies - Possess an entrepreneurial mind-set with the ability to achieve results in a fast pace, rapid growth environment characterized by dynamism and ambiguity - Energy to work in a high growth and dynamic environment - Have a commitment to excellence and strong achievement orientation - Be result-oriented with the ability to be decisive; should be willing to seize initiatives and opportunities - Have strong verbal and written communication skills - Have excellent presentation skills - Have impeccable integrity and high personal ethics Required skills : - CA with a minimum of 15 years of work exp-Age not exceeding 40 years - Present/Past experience of having worked in Financial sector-preferably Banking and also Start up experience would be an added advantage - Should have worked in the capacity of a Financial Controller and should have knowledge of consolidation of Accounts. - Smart/Aggressive with good communication and Negotiation skills.
