Vice President - Engineering & Product - Agri/FMCG

Job Description

- We are looking for a Vice President of Engineering & Product who can take overall accountability of the product and engineering function.

- In addition to being a code maven, you are also expected to be an all rounder and help drive product decisions that are in line with the company's overall goals and vision.

- You will be expected to drive engineering architecture level decisions that ensure scalability and flexibility.

- You will be responsible for leading a team of 10-15 engineers who are top-notch in their abilities and have helped architect the platform to where it is today.

- This is a techno-functional role and you will be responsible for ensuring business requirements are being met as well as for ensuring they are being delivered by the engineering team.

Responsibilities & Scope :

To be the overall owner of Product and Engineering : Internalize and understand company's vision and objectives towards mid/large size enterprises in India.- Work in a cross-functional team environment where you're engaging with engineers, sales leadership, and seller success departments in addition to senior management to ensure the company's priorities are being met.

- Ensure you deliver as per the product delivery plan and communicate appropriately with all stakeholders if there is a need to raise a red flag.

- Our world-class software engineers are just getting started and as a manager, you guide the way. You are their default mentor. You work closely with Engineering Leaders, Managers, Product Management, Business Development and Operations team and enable them by providing scalable and high quality technology solutions at a rapid pace; You set up best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time Architect & design technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions; You work with designers, business analysts, and product managers to estimate and plan projects in an Agile environment.

- Ensuring we build for the right customer and yet again, questioning who is the right customer for us.

- Focus on solving problems by doing things that are right for the user. Be able to re-iterate as many times as required and drive decisions based on data and analytics.

- Create clear career paths for team members and help them grow with regular & deep mentoring. Perform regular performance evaluation and share and seek feedback.

- Able to establish credibility with managers and smart engineers quickly, and provide longer term vision and motivation. Great people skills to closely work with other teams. Product Management, Business Development, and Operations, all need your expertise to ensure superior solutions match our scale of operations.Very high technical competence, strong technical background with track record of individual technical accomplishments.

- Clearly communicate product plans, enhancements, new features and actually launch - mini-products. Be able to think through a feature from start to finish keeping in mind the impact on features, technology and ultimately the business.

- Be able to operate within fuzziness and a state of flux we truly are quite dynamic at our workplace.

- Perform well under uncertainty and work with unclear communication channels intra and inter team considering that ours is an organization that's swiftly evolving.

Must Have : 4+ years at a start-up or own venture.

- 3+ years experience at a scaled startup - Having previous co-founding experience will be a big plus

- A confident, self-starter, team player with drive, enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

- Excellent team work skills to manage and mentor managers and senior engineers under you.

- Ability to manage yourself and be a self starter.

- Strong object oriented design skills, and an uncanny ability to design intuitive module and class-level interfaces.

- Superior project management skills to manage multi-engineer mini projects on the journey of product development and experience of delivering high on time without any compromise on quality.
