JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead & own the product/technology roadmap plans for the vertical - Manage, train & motivate a team of high-pedigree, high-performance engineering managers and engineers from premier educational institutes - Represent team to the senior leadership - Define a vision of excellence and implement it - Serve as a facilitator and mentor for providing leadership for the hardest-to-crack projects - Collaborate effectively with the CTO & the executive leadership for in-sync progress - Guide translating technical & functional requirements into project plans & schedules - Maintaining & implementing a progressive & coherent development strategy for the product line/s - Guide the systems development lifecycle - Lead delivery of high quality applications within budgets and on time - Helping evolve the software engineering practice, especially on aspects like development methodology, reporting and tools SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - Ability to deliver and maintain complex systems - Strong grasp of full stack networking, scalable web back-end, and all genres of platforms technologies (mobile and desktop) - Solid understanding of business processes and the application of technology to implement and thereafter streamline them - Strong leadership and communication skills - Ability to collaborate across departments - Team & people management, especially w.r.t design & architecture and the review of these; management of conflict; performance management - Desire to make impact and high work ethics - Experienced in dealing with ambiguity and change with an entrepreneurial mindset. - Proven ability to manage diverse efforts synergies. Engineering from a top tier campus. - Leadership/people management; product & technology roadmap building skills - Adept at building real-time, complex distributed systems - Strengths in Java/J2EE applications - Strengths in NoSQL technologies viz. Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra or other NoSQL databases - Strengths in any of the queuing frameworks like RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS or Apache Kafka - Strengths in database design and SQL development
