Role

VP of Engineering is a new leadership role, responsible for planning, driving, and reviewing the delivery of projects in line with the agreed product pipeline with the objective to improve the technology delivery.

The VP-Engineering will:

- Be responsible for the overall development life cycle of technical solutions and manage complex projects for the B2B and B2C business verticals

- Plan the overall architecture of our products and support infrastructure

- Lead the team in balancing urgency vs. the incredibly high-quality bar expected by both our internal & external customers, through clear and repeatable engineering processes

- Own the objectives and key results (OKR) setting process for your teams, work closely with business partners to ensure all teams are working towards the same goals

- Show strong business and technical judgment that will accelerate time to market of releases, while incrementally moving our things towards the long-term vision

- Establish team metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence

Functional Requirements

- 10+ years of engineering experience in a medium or larger software company including 5+ years managing high-performance teams

- Demonstrated ability to hire and grow senior leaders and managers

- Strong backend & frontend coding skills.

- Strong technical craft mastery and engineering discipline

- Growth or business experience and focus is a plus

- AI/ML, AR/VR, AWS/GCP experience is a plus

Leadership Requirements

- Benchmark wrote and verbal communication, problem-solving, and process management skills; detail orientation and passion for achieving global quality standards in engineering processes

- Prior experience of and ability to inspire, motivate, manage and attract a high- quality team

- Strong bias for action and ability to initiate, coordinate and manage numerous projects and schedules simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross- functional environment

- Empathy for people and an ability to negotiate through contrasting points of view

- Robust start-up, entrepreneurial muscle to take ownership, be accountable and get things done

- Show the ability to tell stories and communicate product value within varied contexts from commercial to tech
