Job Title: VP - India Citizenship, Employee Programmes

Location: Pune

Grade: VP

- The VP - India Citizenship, Employee Programmes reports to the Head of Asia Pacific Citizenship and will lead on colleague engagement in India - building understanding, buy-in and participation across the breadth of the Citizenship agenda.

- With a new base in Pune, recently established for BX colleagues, the individual will play a key role in partnering with the business to meaningfully engage the country's 14,000+ colleagues - impacting colleague engagement, pride and motivation more broadly.

- The individual will be responsible for developing and leading a scalable India-wide approach to drive participation among all colleagues and developing innovative Citizenship participation opportunities.

Your Role:

- Develop and lead implementation of a scalable India-wide strategy to drive participation, advocacy and talent development among India leaders and colleagues across the Citizenship agenda

- Develop innovative, aligned Citizenship participation opportunities, including skills-based volunteering propositions, that maximise social and business impact and deliver against personal development objectives

- Deliver engagement plan with targeted groups of colleagues, including leaders, ambassadors and scale colleague population

Essential Skills:

- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

- Extensive professional experience (12+ years); evidence within financial services organization; demonstrable experience in Community Investment or Citizenship in a global organization

Desirable Skills: 

Business and Technical : 

- Demonstrable commercial acumen and impressive business knowledge; understanding Barclays strategy and organisational structures, business leadership teams and strategic priorities

- A strong operator and politically astute leader with experience and success in setting clear priorities, executing well, delegating effectively and leading a high-performing team

- Experience managing senior stakeholders: comfortable at all levels of interaction - challenging effectively and becoming a true partner for Citizenship

- Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker. Experience of selling a bigger vision to drive brand value; yet results-oriented with a strong attention to detail

- Strong strategic and business planning skills. Keen analytic and problem-solving skills, and sound judgement, to support and enable effective decision-making

- Entrepreneurial, innovative and a consummate team player. Ability to effectively manage an organization, leveraging activities and resources as appropriate

- Demonstrable effective management of a large budget, with measurable outcomes

Leadership: 

- Excellent performance management and human resource management skills, with experience of managing talent and underperformance

- Extensive leadership skills, with a track record of success - especially with managing a large team, achieving high results and improving performance through people, while minimising people risk

- Successful track record of recruiting and retaining teams across multiple geographies

- Excellent delegation and people empowerment skills

- Coaching and mentoring skills

- Demonstrable ability to effectively manage a culturally-diverse stakeholder group (internally and externally), harmonising different objectives in order to bring significant contribution to the business

Personal/Interpersonal:

- Experience of making decisions in a changing environment and anticipating future needs

- Proven communication and coalition-building skills with an ability to balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across businesses and geographies to achieve buy-in to strategy, programmes and activity

- A skilled presenter, able to represent Barclays on a global stage, internally and externally, as required

- Robust networker, both internally and externally
