About Finance BP&A

- Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A) work closely with the Business Finance / CFO teams (as well as Financial Control, Tax, Treasury and Risk) to support the decision making process of the Executive teams by providing high quality decision support, insight, performance reporting and analysis. This covers Revenue, Cost, Balance Sheet, Capital and Client Franchise Performance.

Overall purpose of role :

- The role is responsible for supporting the Head of India (Finance Centre of Excellence) in providing strong financial leadership to the global businesses on a broad range of reporting, financial and commercial issues and opportunities, ensuring effective delivery of robust performance reporting.

- The role faces off to global stakeholders (Business CFO's / CEOs / COOs). Responsibilities will include driving change through transformative efficiency and process improvements by implementing a culture of LEAN across the team. The role will also be responsible to partner with the local leadership & global stakeholders in continuing the build of Centre of Excellence through migration of additional roles from existing & new regions.

Key Accountabilities :

- Monitor, analyse, interpret and communicate performance data that provides CFO and Exco the business confidence in the information

- Responsible for ensuring all commentary and analysis prepared by the team is clear, concise & fit for purpose, providing coaching support where needed

- Influence stakeholders through excellent communication of information, presentation and recommendation of appropriate solutions

- Lead day-to-day relationships and stakeholder management providing complex information to senior stakeholders that enables them to make key business decisions

- Build strong relationships with the business, clusters, Group Finance and Functions to gain business insights and its financial performance

- Supporting ad-hoc requests ensuring that we meet high standards to provide a timely response to all queries

- Ensure strong processes are in place with strong control environment, adhered timeline in order to deliver accurate information in a timely manner and to the highest standards

- Development of internal reporting suite and MI.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership :

- To be flexible, dynamic and adaptive to relatively frequent changes in reporting requirements and organisational structures.

- Active participation in all leadership teams as part of each Business Unit's - virtual team-

- Collaborate with local leadership and peers on ongoing development and performance management of team

- Lead team through change initiatives including successful migration of responsibilities from UK/US and g of Centre of Excellence.

- Develop and implement the business strategy for own business area.

- Work extensively with the onshore stakeholders to identify and exploit opportunities for effective migration of processes.

- Provide leadership to the team with an oversight for issue resolution.

- Create an environment that promotes continuous improvement and high levels of employee engagement.

- Embed a culture of regular reviews and performance management aligned to our standards.

- Leverage and integrate the capabilities of resources across all levels of the organization to accomplish complex objectives.

Decision-making and Problem Solving :

- Lead production of analytics and deep drill decks as and when topical issues arise to further business understanding and support decision-making

- Deliver high quality, performance insights to support informed and effective decision making

- Respond to ad-hoc requests for performance data from all Finance teams. Ensure the information provided is robust, understood and has been properly set in context and explained.

- Drive improvement in team processes e.g automation of manual processes, revision of systems and technical enhancements where appropriate

- Identification and delivery of standardisation across SBU's wherever possible

Risk and Control Objective :

- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

- Ensure adherence to and compliance with governance, risk policies, procedures and compliance policies.

Essential :

- Qualified Accountant

- Strong financial management and analysis skills

- Strong communication and relationship management skills

- Strong analytical skills

- Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving / dynamic environment

- Awareness of key drivers of service excellence and operational efficiency

- Investment Banking Exp

Preferred :

- Understanding of Barclays and/or Financial Services sector

- Knowledge and understanding of risks, controls, risk management tools and methodologies

- Experience of End to End System/process change

- Prior experience of using Lean techniques for delivering process improvements
