The company is a private equity fund, founded with a view towards investing in mid-sized, profitable, India-centric businesses, and then transforming them into world-class industry leaders. The company has a diverse investment portfolio in India.

Position : VP - Business Management (BM) - VP

Key Deliverable :

PORTFOLIO COMPANY/s :

A. Working with the Business Management (BM) Partner :

1. Enable effective business performance analysis of portfolio companies on an ongoing basis :

a. Ensure each business has a set of sharply defined metrics,

b. support CEO/CFO in co creating KPI's where required

c. Set-up and review strategic projects

2. Prepare and present portfolio company/s performance on a monthly/quarterly basis at the internal forums, for e.g:

a. Deal Team

b. Advisory Board

c. Quarterly Review meetings

3. Any other - to be agreed with the Business Partner

B. Support to portfolio company CFO's on tax and regulatory matters to ensure:

a. Exposures are minimized,

b. Opportunities are availed timely,

c. Compliance on applicable tax and regulatory matters

d. Provide leadership, where required, to the portfolio company team, both in regulatory outreach initiatives as well as resolution to critical tax and regulatory matters.

C. Support CFO's in minimizing Operational & financial risks at portfolio companies :

1. Where required, provide support in defining operating and financial policies and processes.

Note : Effective implementation of :

a. robust internal review and audit processes to assess and enhance effectiveness as well as add value to the business,

b. an active and comprehensive framework to detect and prevent compliance defaults, and

c. Quarterly statutory audit reviews to assess and authenticate accuracy of MIS reporting shall be the responsibility of the portfolio company finance team. The audit committee of the Board shall have the responsibility of oversight on the effective implementation.

d. Management of portfolio company debt :


As a member of the DMO team,

1. Build/expand sustainable, long term debt sourcing pool and strengthen relationship with lenders.

2. Support portfolio companies in debt raise at optimal costs.

3. Post debt raise have an oversight to ensure compliance with lender covenants.

D. Pre-investment support to deal team

- Support to Investment team in Finance diligence of potential investee companies.

- Ownership of Legal and Tax diligence of potential investee companies.

- Ownership of language related to tax reps, warranties and indemnities in the transaction documentation.

Note : Effective implementation of,

E. Management of portfolio company debt

(Defining the capital structure of the portfolio company is the role of the Investment team and the company CFO)

Qualification & Experience :

- CA (first attempt mandatory / rank holder preferred) with post qualification experience ranging between 10-12 years, preferably in the Financial Services or FMCG sector

- Should have a streak of entrepreneurship and ability to multi task

- Should be able to demonstrate a good understanding and usage of financial metrics such as the P&L, B/S, Cash flow statements.

- Understanding of aspects of finance: Taxation (direct and indirect), Controls, Compliance

Must have Competencies :

- Leadership and business partnering capability and commercial acumen is a critical element of the role.

- Result Oriented: High level of energy and drive and desire to excel.

- Collaborating: Should be able to work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders, peers and external executives

- Operational Skills: Proven track record of being hands on and willingness to roll up sleeves if need be.
