Vestas - Director - Procurement

Looking for a matured Procurement Leader with experience in handling overall procurement (direct & indirect) for large commodities & high values.

The role involves the incumbent to Work closely with Global Procurement Management Team and global category teams, the Procurement Lead India will be responsible for the procurement activities in one of Vestas key markets. By leading the regional team to bring new initiatives to the table, identify and develop new local suppliers and drive cost out opportunities.

Working closely with Global Procurement Management Team and global category teams, the procurement lead in India will lead the regional team to bring new initiatives to the table, identify and develop new local suppliers and drive cost out opportunities in the region. With a total cost mindset, you will be a change agent focusing on delivering great results through building capabilities within the organization. Once of the key business challenges will be to increase competitiveness within the local supply chain and thereby develop India for further export.

Responsibilities:

- Secure a good cooperation with Vestas Sales organization to support sales in reaching their targets.

- Identify cost out opportunities, align with the global category teams and secure implementation;

- Focus on identifying and implementing opportunities for suppliers in the India region to do more value added production;

- Lead regional initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost across the Vestas supply chain;

- Manage project plans and follow up on business performance, conducting regular reviews with Category Managers and Global Procurement management;

- Be a change agent and secure capability building within through sparring, coaching, engaging with key stakeholders and the implementation of professional purchasing processes.

Qualifications:

- We are looking for an ambitious and experienced procurement/sourcing profile with a proven track record within an international organization.

- You have worked within an industrial company or a consulting firm dealing with complex and diversified procurement/sourcing assignments for at least 10 years within the supply chain. You will be able to drive a number of key initiatives in parallel.

- You have a strong track record relating to leadership in a matrix set-up and driving localization activities for the India market.

- MBA or MSc. Degree (or equivalent) in SCM, Business or Engineering

Additional information:

Primary work location is Chennai, India - travel within ASP region expected to be approx 50 days per year and international travel approximately 30 days.
