Vertical Lead/Thematic Lead - Strategy Firm (12-20 yrs)

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert who will drive the entire Vertical/Thematic area for the current and future projects. The incumbent can be from any of the following thematic areas -

- Health

- Gender & Child protection

- Education

- Climate Change & Environment

- Livelihood and Socio-economic inclusion


The incumbent will be responsible for leading the vertical, select projects, and ensuring steady flow of business. This will include revenue management, client management, recruitments and business development. As a member of the Senior Leadership team of , contribute to strategy development, representing the organization at external fora and strengthen organizational reputation.

Job KRAs :

- Build a thematic area practice, in collaboration with the partners and CEO

- Serve as technical lead for research, evaluation and consulting projects in the social impact sector

- Business development, stakeholder management, client relationship building and P&L ownership for the respective thematic area / vertical

- Quality assurance of key client deliverables

- Technical inputs to enable improved project delivery

- Leadership and supervision of the programme delivery team, both technically and managerially across the key result areas

- Provision of overall strategic guidance and support for organization strategy and operations

- Ensuring effective skills transfer and capacity building through mentoring and coaching of programme staff

- Continuous liaison, engagement and relationship management with key stakeholders and ecosystem actors

- Authoring thought leadership pieces and building organizational credibility in the respective vertical

Education qualification and skills :

- Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

- Expertise in at least 1 social impact thematic area mentioned above

- At least 12-15 years' proven strategic, advisory, and team leadership experience in social impact, research, consulting, or evaluation. Minimum 8 years' experience in team management, client management and Business Development.

- Expertise in the field of M&E and Evidence based advisory is mandatory

- Hands-on experience in designing and leading projects

- Ability to motivate and proactively lead a diverse team

- Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and flexibility

- Strong project management skills with exposure to complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes

- Ability to manage tight timelines, client relationships and budgets. Advanced problem solving abilities.
