The Role:
- The role of Program manager in FinTech is a new role under the latest team. FinTech team sits in between entire lifecycle of sales/revenue. Hence, requires good program management skills to work with upstream (marketing, sales, BU) and downstream (Finance, Retention,
- Collections) teams. FinTech team has a clear mandate: They're expected to increase overall number of units sold via Finance/EMI option and needs to be preferred way of purchasing Vedantu Products (Rather than upfront cash or card based)
- Thus, an ideal candidate will be a problem solver at heart, who understands nuances of
- Consumer lending (or lending in general) and has a knack of building systems by working with large teams towards a singular vision of building the best Fintech company in India.
- The incumbent will report to Associate Director, FinTech. Since the team is small, you'll be expected to deliver and execute the plans formulated by leadership team. Ownership of numbers, monitoring it and intervention wherever required is key to success for yourself and the overall team as well.
Note: This is an IC (Individual contribution) role to start with, but expect the PM to hire few team members after settling in and defining clear goals.
Scope of Responsibilities:
1. Strategy, Market and Vendors
- To liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Business Teams and Finance team) to design new processes that are focused towards increasing affordability of Vedantu's products
- Assist the AD in managing various processes in lending lifecyle.
- Starting from designing the Loan origination process at Vedantu's end, monitoring various lenders' portfolio, suggesting optimizations in journey by working with Sales/BU heads
- Be SPOC from FinTech team for BU heads: Executing go to market plans, training of Sales for new processes
- Scout, explore and evaluate vendors to optimize journeys across frontend (payment app) and backend (LMS/OMS portals) and automate workflows.
- Digital transformation of entire lifecyle, backward and forward linkages with FinTech process. Including Marketing, Sales, Finance, Retention teams etc
2. Growth, Risk and Stakeholder Management
Ownership of FinTech targets:
- Plan and monitor targets for each month from FinTech/affordability standpoint.
- Pre-empt and intervene if processes are breaking (internal/internal)
- Identify areas where system could be gamed and develop checks and balances to ensure risk, frauds, fake sales etc are controlled, if not eliminated.
- Periodically touch-base with various process owners (upstream and downstream) to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including conduct risk, as well as the products are operating efficiently and as expected.
- Willingness to develop understanding by collaborating with various stakeholders and teams. Comfortable with ideas being shared and challenged. Should have patience to work towards a solution where inputs of many people have to be considered, which can be at odds to each other.
3. Customer Experience Definition
In coordination with various BU teams that use Digital finance platforms- conduct a regular monitoring of service performance, customer satisfaction, call survey results, complaints and breaches - root cause analysis and rectification of issues.
Experience needed :
2-4 years of experience in either of the following roles within Lending/FinTech company
Product, Program management or Process owner in FinTech operations
Note: Candidates with exposure to Consumer lending background in
NBFCs/Fintech/Banks experience in relevant roles such as Operations, Strategy,
Portfolio, Business Planning, etc can be considered
Skills needed :
Product Management tools: Knowledge of tools such as JIRA and confluence to liaison with technology / engineering teams. Ability to speak with product teams in terms of BRDs/PRDs and Flowcharts is desirable, but not a must.
Analytics and Excel: Proven analytical and quantative skillsets. Would be expected to do Root-cause analysis, and identify problems through large data-sets.
Project Management: Experience of program management and best practises (templates / trackers) to track project status, timelines, ownership etc. This is the core skill you'll need to possess. Things should not fall through the cracks.
Flowcharts: Should be fluent with turning ideas into flowcharts (swimlane diagrams), one pager documents etc and is a must
Critical Thinking: Structured thinking, Excellent oral and written communication and organisational skills
Business Planning: Commercial focus and attention to detail at the same time
