BU Head - Youtube


Overview of the Role :

- Youtube plays a pivotal role in adding audiences to the Vedantu platform and giving them an experience of the standards of teaching and engagement at vedantu. Currently we command the highest views in K12 School and Competitive exam segment.

- This role will be responsible for managing a complete vertical of Youtube growth and operations right from P&L to execution through internal as well as cross functional teams. Figuring out the best course of action for disproportionate growth of audience and engagement in all categories of K12 from early learning to competitive exam preparation and executing those plans into action.

Responsibilities:

1. Detailing the growth strategy and framework for Youtube in various categories on the basis of category potential, business requirements and competitive trends.

2. Owning the P&L for the vertical in alignment with business goals and taking important decisions such as build vs buy etc under the above framework.

3. Develop strategic audience acquisition and engagement plans to drive growth in key metrics such as net subscriber growth, views and watchtime.

4. Work with cross-functional teams such as academics, master teachers, operations, category and marketing in the execution of the plans.

5. Analyze data and insights, and carry out appropriate research/prototyping to determine industry and consumer trends.

6. Develop decision frameworks involving various business teams such as category and marketing for pitching of various products on different assets (videos) in line for the overall business plans of the month/quarter.

7. Place appropriate processes along with checks and balances to ensure that the content or streams are in line with the branding and culture of vedantu.

8. Collaborate with academics and the supply side to ensure promised levels of customer experience.

Desired Skillsets :

1. Very high aptitude and hunger to work on the unknowns and solve problems.

2. Experience in incubating and driving customer-facing growth programs at scale.

3. Proven experience as category or channel Growth manager or similar role.

4. Solid knowledge of channel management, social media engagement, and content engagement principles.

5. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.

6. An analytical mind with an ability to take strategic business decisions.

7. Excellent communication and people skills and ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.

8. High speed growth mindset.

9. Educational background of Engineering + MBA from premier institutes with 8-10+ years of experience and a minimum of 3 yrs in high growth start-ups
