Hiring for US Taxation- CA or CPA
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Preparation of individual income tax returns, including familiarity with these common scenarios:
- Various investment reporting such as Consolidated 1099s from investment companies; and K-1s from alternative pass-through investments.
- Familiar with basis tracking for pass-through entities.
- Familiar with Schedule E, page 2 reporting for pass-through entities.
- Familiar with passive v. non-passive activities.
- Reporting for income from rental activities on Schedule E, page 1.
- Reporting on Schedule C for sole proprietorships and single member LLCs.
- Itemized deductions reported on Schedule A such as state and local taxes, interest expense, and charitable contributions.
- Reporting associated with qualified business income deduction.
- Potential preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns (this experience considered a plus).
- Accounting skills (debits/credits) necessary to analyze and adjust client provided trial balance.
- Familiar with tax depreciation of fixed assets, including bonus depreciation and Section 179 expense and reporting on Form 4562.
- Familiar with Form 1065, Form 1120S and Form 1120.
- Familiar with tax reporting for these entities, including pass-through nature of partnership and S Corporation entity types.
- Preparing work papers, trial balances, and other assignments as directed.
Desired Candidate Profile - 3 Years of post-qualification experience in US Taxation.
- CA with a Commerce graduation or US CPA enrolled qualification is preferable.
- Proven thorough ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization, this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
- Deeper understanding of accounting concepts & US Tax Principles.
- Able to analyze and manage the client and the team.
- Able to resolve tax queries of the team and the clients.
- Knowledge with accounting/tax system like Ultra Tax, Quick books, Xero, MYOB, Net Suite, SAP, CCH and Caseware and others.
