Over the last 4 years we have built a network of 50,000+ trained service professionals, and served over 2 million customers across major metropolitan cities of India and Dubai.
Urban Company's vision is to empower 1 million+ service professionals worldwide, to deliver services at home, like never experienced before. Prior to joining Urban Company, most of our Service Partners would typically earn INR 15-25k per month, working for a local shop, aggregator or as a freelancer.

Branding and Customer Access: Working as an individual franchisee of Urban Company Financing Access : Opening bank accounts, access to loans, insurance etc.
Tech Led Service Standardization : Standardizing the service - creating SKUs, fixed and transparent pricing, clear service deliverables, defined SOPs, delivery tracking, payment systems, reviews etc., to help remove friction from the service experience
Training: So and Core Skills Training imparted in our training centers and via the app
Consumables Supply Chain : Purchasing consumables needed for service delivery in bulk This helps service professionals become more organized and multiplies their earnings. E.g. - Our beauticians typically earn INR 40-50k per month with no upper ceiling (Many earn > INR 100k per month), while in the local salons, they would earn between INR 8-15k per month

The Appliance Repairs Central team conceptualizes the strategy and owns the Pan India execution across UCs markets. This role requires the candidate to work on improving the product market fit for the existing offerings, which in turn requires deep understanding of existing Urban Company business fundamentals and deep bottom up problem solving.
Since the industry as such is majorly fragmented, unorganized, and without any significant existing benchmarks, the candidate will need to work in an environment with significant amount of ambiguity, and ensure alignment with the overall org growth targets.
This could range from redesigning our customer support process to improve customer experience, to significantly increase the speed of supply building (professionals), to data deep dives to understand what makes our customers love our service.
The candidate will also be responsible for driving these initiatives to logical conclusions by -
- Establishing business processes spending time on the ground to gather insights and build solid processes/SOPs to enable a seamless scale-up
- Collaborating across multiple teams city team, marketing, product, finance to ensure coherence and swift execution
In a nutshell, this role is expected to attack critical business bottlenecks for UC to enable swift scale up. While this role involves an element of strategist, we expect candidates to have an ear to the ground, get their hands dirty, and solve real problems. Potential backgrounds -
- 3+ years of consulting experience AND 2+ years of experience in a high growth operations based startup.
- 5+ years of consulting experience
- 5+ years of program management / category management experience in high growth Ops based startups
- 5+ years of Operations experience in FMCG/Oil and Gas
