- Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
- Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
- Draft and revise company policies (internal and consumer facing)
- Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses
- Evaluate business activities to assess compliance risk
- Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed
- Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
- Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation
- Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
- Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
- Management of labour issues
- Management of consumer issues and litigation
- Issuing and responding to legal notices
- Creation and implementation of intellectual property protection plan
Candidate experience required:
- Proficient in data privacy (especially GDPR) laws across foreign jurisdictions
- Proficient in consumer protection and labour laws
- Knowledge of IP management - specifically copyright
- Excellent communication and drafting skills
