Details of Responsibilities / Purpose of Job :

Briefly, state the primary purpose of the job in terms of how it contributes to the department's objectives

This position supports the US IT finance team and would require the candidate to consolidate, analyze and ensure key finance and nonfinance data originating from multiple source platforms is captured accurately and consistently and thereby ensuring data integrity. Develops and maintains financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget. This role also requires the candidate to support efforts towards streamlining the input data and thereby contribute to improving accuracy.

Job Components :

- Demonstrates a solid understanding of business metrics and drivers of financial performance.

- Demonstrates basic to moderate understanding of how to retrieve data from company-specific financial systems and use reporting tools (e.g., Essbase)

- Identifies and communicates root causes of trends.

- Demonstrates moderate understanding of the healthcare business, industry and competitive trends, product changes, and sales offerings

- Analyzes financial results, trends, performance metrics, and provides variance and root cause analysis to support business decisions.

- Demonstrates full understanding of how our core business drivers influence the financials.

- Compiles, reviews and presents financial and operational information to key senior executives, identifying key messages, risks, and opportunities.

- Proactively compiles explanations for performance changes or unusual charges.

Financial Analysis :

- Develops analytical models (e.g., trends, customer P&Ls, margin analysis, volume/price mix etc)

- Demonstrates full working knowledge of enterprise-wide data sources (GL and non-GL), and incorporates the information into analyses.

- Demonstrates full understanding of company-specific systems and tools used for financial analysis, reporting and presentation (e.g., Essbase, People Soft, Hyperion and legacy reporting systems)

- Analyzes financial results, trends, performance metrics, and provides variance and root cause analysis to support business decisions.

- Compiles, reviews and presents financial and operational information to key senior executives, identifying key messages, risks, and opportunities

- Partners with a variety of organizations and management levels to gather information, understand business issues and challenges, etc.

Financial Reporting :

- Identifies and communicates root causes of trends.

- Proactively improves the quality and timeliness of reporting, and fill reporting gaps.

- Develops financial reports and analyses that are appropriate for various audiences or customized to address specific topics.

- Identifies new reporting tools, data sources, and tracking mechanisms, and makes appropriate recommendations.

- Demonstrates full understanding of multiple data sources (e.g., data warehouses, GL, forecasting applications) and coaches/ trains others on how to obtain needed data.

- Ensures that financial reports are aligned with current organizational structure.

Financial Planning :

- Demonstrates business-specific knowledge of formal budget/ financial planning processes.

- Develops/assesses gaps in the financial planning process, and make improvements as necessary.

- Demonstrates full understanding the core drivers of our business, and the relative impact each has on overall business results (e.g., sensitivity, precedence, significance).

- Independently prepares components of the budget/forecast.

- Assists in the implementation of planning systems and support system usage as applicable.

- Identifies and verifies leadership assumptions as needed during the financial planning process.

Required Skills :

- Graduate or Post-Graduate in commerce/Accounting or MBA Finance

- Minimum of 8+ yrs. of experience in Financial analysis role

- Understanding of General Ledger and chart field attributes, ability to drill down into ledger accounts & identify anomalies in balances

- Ability to analyze large volumes of data, both financial and time accounting data (resource utilization) and prepare accurate reports

- Strong on excel skills and fluent with using several functionalities

- Comes with good experience working with reporting tools like Essbase, Hyperion and General ledger tools like People soft, Oracle.

- Good Interpersonal skills and Analytical skills

- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally

Educational Qualifications :

MBA/Mcom/Graduate in commerce

Work Hours:

Regular Shift 2.30 pm - 12.00am IST (3 AM - 12.30 PM CST/ 4AM - 1.30 PM CST )
