Managerial Responsibility

- Develops and implements strategic, tactical and operational surveillance plans, programs and initiatives to align in line with the division's objectives

- Supports the development of the workforce and plans for the division by providing inputs on own department's workforce forecasts

- Envisages the importance of surveillance and governance across all business units

- Manages and controls the operating framework for the department, provides guidance and support, ensures implementation and review of work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and continuous improvement

Core Responsibilities

- Lead a team which conducts Onsite Branch Reviews, thematic reviews and Branch Operational Risk Management (BORM) Tracker Assessment

- Drives on ground surveillance/operation audits of branches

- Advise the top management and CST Head on processes, branch banking strategies, programs, initiatives and emerging issues to enable strategic decision processes on major or critical issues

- Establish a strong platform of offsite monitoring and provide support to branches for improvement in operational Branch Health Score Card (BHSC)

- Provide support and guidance to branches on complex transactions

- Oversees a team that monitors these surveillances and assures that the team is adequately responding to escalations and process related concerns of branches

- Benchmarking best practices and key surveillance parameters to monitor risk & compliance

- Develop and improve analytics and trigger based monitoring for Branches

People Management or Self-Management Responsibilities

- Develops a continuous talent pipeline for key roles in the department and provides mentoring for high potential talent in the team

- Adherence to the Company's HCM policies e.g. Leave Policy and Timings etc.

- Good understanding of company systems policies procedures and standards

- Monitors and enables the achievement of goals and key performance indicators for direct reports and ensures effective implementation of the performance management process in the department

- Develops talent within the department by providing guidance, ongoing feedback, coaching and development opportunities to individuals to enable achievement of the defined goals

Risk and Internal Control Responsibilities

- Governs implementation of risk-related policies and processes (operational, regulatory, financial, informational, reputational and audit risks) for the department, ensuring that that these meet regulatory and internal control requirements

- Reviews implementation of the internal control systems in line with relevant operating procedures and regulatory requirements and takes corrective action based on audit findings

Professional Certifications

M.Com /MBA / CA /CFA / JAIIB / CAIIB

Experience

14-16 years of relevant banking experience
