Unilever - Manager/Senior Manager - Product Delivery - Information Analytics

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of Product Delivery Lead - I&A Technology role is to:

1. Take full responsibility end 2 end delivery of Universal Data Lake ingestion and and deliver as per commitment for cost, time and quality.

2. Take accountability for ensuring that all new and amended demand are designed from the - ground up- to be fit for purpose (capable of meeting its objectives and design to operate) and fit for use (capable of meeting availability, capacity, continuity and security requirements).

3. Deliver Analytics solutions across I&A via True Dev ops and enable Agile delivery model.

4. Establish Standardisation/Automation to Build / Deploy and Test tools as per Unilever delivery standards and be a solution evangelist to enable this in I&A tech platform leveraging 3rd party suppliers

5. Ensure the successful and seamless introduction of new or amended Data services, whilst assuring the continuity of the existing IT service portfolio - targeting - zero incident change- so that the business is not interrupted when new or amended IT services are launched.

6. Partner with Architecture team within I&A Tech to design systems/solutions for outcomes based on requirements and functional analysis

Key responsibilities:

3) Partner with I&A Business Product Management team to translate business requirements to technical products and deliver solutions with best in class value to Unilever

4) Drive technical discussions with I&A Business Product Managers, third party vendor partners, I&A Tech Architecture team to design the best solution at great value, quality and performance to meet the business requirements

5) Create, manage and execute the Project Plan, which includes a Project Scope Statement, Work Breakdown Structure, Schedule, Communication Plan, Quality Plan, Resource Plan, and Risk Management Plan

6) Manage internal IT resources and preferred third party vendor partners to deliver projects on time, within budget and as per the defined quality metrics

7) Track progress of the project schedule, scope and resources (including budget), compares to original plan, works with team to take corrective action if the project is not tracking to plan and regularly communicate status to project stakeholders

8) Hold third party vendor teams accountable for following the standards, and ensure that the solutions delivered are acceptable and adoptable by Business

9) Ensure that appropriate testing and quality assurance activities occurs and that documented use cases, test scenarios, test scripts for automated testing and other artefacts supporting testing are generated

10) Ensure that appropriate post-deployment support and production support is in place to support the product to meet agreed upon service level agreements

11) Keep I&A and I&A Tech leaders informed on a regular basis, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure timely delivery of projects with quality

12) Continually challenge the current model and methods to identify improvements that bring optimization to the technical design and delivery methodology

13) Provide technical oversight for and coordination of multidisciplinary technical teams to achieve project objectives, ensuring quality of project deliverables

14) Work closely with third party vendor partner teams to understand highly complex and technical issues, bring technical expertise and operational excellence which will influence the team's decisions and drive secure and robust solutions

15) Communicate effectively with resources operating on a much more technical and detailed level as well as Business Product counterparts are functional experts and may not be technology savvy

16) Grow and develop the professional capabilities of the I&A Tech delivery team as appropriate, supplementing it with external resources as required to ensure the necessary skills and expertise are available for projects and programmes.

17) Set, negotiate, agree and manage financial budgets and targets, ensuring that there is adequate funding for all planned projects with 3rd party

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

The person must have: -

1. Technical knowledge on Cloud based data and analytics tools and technologies, specifically Azure, Data Lake Store, SQL DW and Hadoop.

2. Should be very clear on Extract Transform Load(ETL) concepts and hold expertise in extraction methods and routing/filtering/lookup/transformation principles and must have experience of constructing an Enterprise Datawarehouse (EDW).

3. Must have a keen focus on the how to join together disparate data sets and the ability to visualize the end2end process & data flow

4. Should have designed or architected data integration projects with exposure to multiple data sources and target systems with a wide option of cleansing and transformation rules to ensure the data is aligned.

5. Expert verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively manage project communications and stakeholder expectations at all levels of the organization

6. Strong collaboration and engagement with CCBT, CD and SC partners

7. Makes reasonable judgments quickly and adjusts thinking to assimilate new information

8. Possesses highly effective analytical thinking in order to develop solutions, make recommendations, or propose action plans

9. Ability to learn new tools, technologies and process quickly

13. Deep understanding of Agile/DevOps development lifecycle from conception to delivery

14. Previous experience at Unilever or similar organization in Information & Analytics Delivery

15. Experience of establishing - Dev Ops & Agile capabilities for application development, testing in Information & Analytics area.

16. Working knowledge in any of I&A technicalities such Informatica, ADF, ADLS, Hadoop etc.

17. Wide and detailed IT knowledge to enable leadership of a multi-disciplinary IT team, including knowledge of architecture management, security management, quality management, capacity management, application development and testing, TOGAF, lifecycle management, software development life cycle, service level management, IT operations.

18. Experience of working in a global IT organization with multi-sourced and off-shore environment.

19. Experience and cultural awareness required to take a leading role in managing a globally distributed team.

20. Proven track-record of leading the delivery of large and complex global programme / projects.

21. Experience of developing business cases for technology investment.

22. Good understanding of current and emerging Cloud technologies in Information management, and their potential business impact

23. Thorough understanding of applicable standards and procedures including technical, quality, safety and financial matters across all areas of service delivery.

The Person

- 8 to 20 years of experience in IT, with at least 5+ managing program delivery in multivendor environment

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a professional or management discipline

- Relevant professional certification (PMI, ITIL, CMI, Chartered IT Professional etc)
