We have been retained by a professionally managed General Insurance Company with an international affiliation to identify an Underwriter - Financial Lines to be based at Mumbai. Job Purpose: The position is responsible to ensure that day to day Financial Lines underwriting is done efficiently (in line with the Underwriting guidelines) and within agreed TAT's. Job Responsibilities: - Execute efficiently the day to day underwriting in terms of the quality and the TAT's. - Collaborate with the sales teams to help book quality business and meet business plan in terms of revenue and profitability goals. - Prepare presentations and work with the Head Underwriter to develop business. - Manage relationships with the brokers on a day to day basis to procure business. - Assist in the development of market competitive products. - Preparation, updations and maintenance of the underwriting guidelines and processes. - Facilitate Business Planning in terms of providing support to Sales in terms of scoping out the market, niche segments etc. - Put in place any reinsurance arrangements in consultation with the Underwriting Head. - Risk analysis of corporates in terms of financial risks, regulatory risks, and professional risks by understanding the nature of the company, track record of management, services rendered by them, financial analysis and their legal environment in which they operate. - This would also entail liasoning with Singapore based reinsurers for technical support required from them. - Liasoning with the various marketing medium (brokers, marketing managers, agents etc) and clients by providing them with technical inputs - Handling the profit centre in terms of achieving turnover, profitability and managing reinsurance, operations and claim.
