Person will manage the Underwriting for multiple channels. Objective is to have a focused, customer-focused and compliant medical underwriting team that contributes to our clients ability to write profitable protection business. The job requires commitment to deliver outstanding results and managing close relationship with multiple Distribution Channel stakeholders

Role Description:

Strengthening the Underwriting Management:

- Risk assessment and placement of profitable lives on the company books.

- Ensure due diligence in underwriting practices and risk evaluation to ensure mortality assumptions are on track.

Build good relationship with Sales Channels:

- Develop Channel specific UW guidelines to ensure healthy top line along with effective controls

- Evaluate risks and support final decision on most unusual or risky cases.

General Operations Management:

- Drive highest levels of customer satisfaction through building hassle free underwriting processes.

- Establish, document and communicate service standards to all concerned stake holders.

Compliance with Regulatory guidelines :

- Supervise and review procedures and ensure for compliance in line with IRDA, Internal guidelines, reinsurance and ISO requirements.

- Identify gaps and implement measures for gap resolution program.

People Management:

- Coach and build in-house underwriting capability through a professional and engaged team.

- Conduct performance reviews

Requirements:

- Graduate / Post Graduate preferably in Insurance, Medicine, Pharmacy or Finance.

- Sound technical knowledge of Life/Health Insurance underwriting..

- At least 10 years of Life Underwriting experience; Experience in Risk management is a must.
