Udaan Capital :

MSME financing is a $380 Bn opportunity as per the World Bank. However, less than 10% of MSMEs have access to working capital loans from FIs and a majority of MSMEs receive invoice credit from their suppliers. A trade platform like udaan is uniquely positioned to formalize & scale trade credit.

Udaan Capital is bridging this gap by offering credit products for buyers and seller on and off the udaan platform.

About the role :

Being a digital platform, udaan generates a tremendous amount of data on an ongoing basis. The role holder would be responsible for will be responsible for leveraging our data to solve business problems from various spheres (example: fraud, underwriting, collections etc.) of our credit program in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities :

- Analytical articulation of a business or operations problem statement.

- Utilize analytical tools and techniques to exploit interrogate systems, test and validate intelligence hypotheses, identify leading indicators and provide recommendations for effective fraud detection and monitoring.

- Identifying data sources which may provide value to Fraud Intelligence and establishing processes to ensure that data from these sources is captured in a regular and reliable manner.

- Profile fraud events, taxonomies and trends and communicate findings to various stakeholders using appropriate tools, language and techniques.

- Rolling out identified solutions in partnership with business, modeling and operations teams.

KRAs of the role :

- Accountable for the end-to-end analysis and execution of value-add insights to mitigate current and emerging fraud threats

- Educating the business on relevant emerging fraud trends, support growth of udaan Capital while managing fraud

- Work with modelling team to create models to detect fraud and create fraud monitoring framework

- Process efficiency: Automate the BAU tasks in the system.

Functional Competencies :

- Analytical thinking and quantitative aptitude: Demonstrate Analytical thinking, problem-solving attitude and a high level of comfort with numbers.

- Ability to utilize statistical models to meet business objectives

- Fetching and manipulating large data sets using SQL / Hive.

- Analyzing and visualizing large data sets: R / python.

- Attention to detail: High attention to detail with commitment to accuracy & completeness.

- Collaborative skills and Stakeholder management: Ability to work successfully with multiple teams and stakeholders

- Communication skills: Excellent communication - both verbal and written.

- People Skills: Ability to support peer group and mentor colleagues with lesser expertise/experience

- Decision making: Clearly articulate thinking around any problem and executes on decision making to deliver outcome.

- Technical Expertise: Subject matter expertise in area of fraud backed by practical experience.

Candidate Profile :

- Must hold an engineering/math/physics/ statistics degree from a top-tier school.

- Must have 4-6 years of work experience, preferably in a fast-paced start-up or as an entrepreneur or an NBFC/FinTech or Financial or Analytics organization.

- Demonstrated capacity to produce high quality strategic, operational and tactical intelligence products

- Understanding of retail & commercial bank products, payment channels/types & associated fraud risk policies

- Experience with data mining and analysis of large datasets & reporting.
