Udaan - Assistant Legal Counsel - Litigation

Udaan is looking for a bright, experienced and self-motivated attorney with at least 3-4 years of litigation and regulatory enforcement experience to join the Legal Team. In this role, you'll partner with and provide legal guidance to departments such as Finance, HR, Corporate Development, Communications, Fraud and Security Management, Regulatory and Policy to help craft solutions to the legal challenges Udaan faces every day.

Our legal work is cutting edge and always evolving, so it will be up to you to continuously assess and advise on legal issues using a creative and pragmatic approach in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities :

- Responsibilities include handling, managing, and supervising a wide range of disputes and regulatory engagements; directly interacting with government officials, including regulators and law enforcement;

- Proactively manage all aspects of litigation, including discovery, witness preparation, trial and appellate strategies in a variety of pre-dispute and dispute resolution contexts;

- Work closely with internal business partners to provide strategic and proactive legal advice on litigation and regulatory issues, including but not limited to understanding, interpreting, and applying current laws and regulations to Udaan's existing and prospective products and services;

- Provide counselling to relevant stakeholders regarding various laws, regulations including but not limited to current and upcoming policy changes and their obligations;

- Manage outside counsel in your areas of coverage.

Experience & Skills :

- Qualification from a top-tier law school with 3+ years practicing law at a leading law firm or in-house preferably in the e-commerce sector;

- Familiarity with Internet, software, and/or business industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which e-commerce entities operate;

- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication and interpersonal skills;

- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving workplace.

- Must be able to travel as necessary.
