Head - BIU/ Lead - Data Engineering

Education: BE / M Sc/ MCA/ M Tech/ equivalent diploma

The right candidate should have the ability to understand the needs of business, orient data and reports/ insights and interface with business partners, while grooming junior analysts.

Role overview :

The role entails taking ownership of design and execution of key internal and regulatory reporting items, facilitation of automation/ streamlining of data transmission from core systems, anticipating and generating key business insights in proactive manner & managing and enhancing the data layer for organisation, enabling advanced end use such as statistical modelling and machine learning. The role involves:

- Communicating and engaging with senior leadership across sales, credit, operations, finance, compliance in a regular manner

- Collaborate with product and analytics teams continuously, to create reports and insights through understanding of business processes and system infrastructure

- Groom and manage junior analysts, allocating work as necessary

- Lead design for database and data pipeline/ ETL using emerging technologies and tools

- Assess and project infrastructure demand to cater to business demand

- Manage governance and quality of data

- Lead and facilitate business and technical requirements gathering, defining target solution and architecture

- Define, configure and optimize various processes and stages of analytics delivery of agile business intelligence and data warehousing solutions adhering to industry best practices

- Understand technology and functional domains around BI, DW, ML environments and apply the same to solution architecture and roadmaps

- Define and advise on vendor/ tool selection from time to time

Key requirements :

- Domain knowledge - 8+ years of experience in reporting/ automation in BFSI

- Experience of credit risk reporting OR regulatory reporting is must

- Knowledge of SME business would be a big plus

Strengths and Soft skills :

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Excellent verbal communication/ presentation skills

- Comfortable in managing cross functional stakeholders at senior levels

- Comfortable in adjusting priorities in a fast-paced scenario

- Ability to lead and groom junior analysts

Technical skills :

- High proficiency in SAS, SQL, excel

- Strong SQL skills in at least one DB - SQL server, Oracle etc

- Strong Data Modelling skills

- Experience in a Data Warehouse environment reporting on dimensions/hierarchies

- Familiarity with at least one BI tool (like SAS VA, Tableau, Power BI)

- Knowledge of no SQL DB and query language will be a big plus
