Reports to : CFO Reportees : 2 members Qualifications: - CA or CFA, ideally with additional banking qualifications such as CAIIB, CIF etc Work Experience (highlight): - 12 years of overall experience including 6 years in financial services business - Specific understanding of fixed income businesses in investment banking, asset management, trading & investments and distribution is an added advantage Role Description: - This is a senior management role which reports to the CFO with a primary objective to support accounting operational efficiencies across all business entities of the group. It envisages hands on direct management & integration of the entire accounts function for all group entities including recognizing, reporting, compliances, taxation and adherence to group's policies and procedures. Core Purpose of the Role: - Work closely with the CFO to manage the accounting function across the group by partnering the accounting team including a few direct reportees. - Management of entire accounting record to report transactions & activities, including invoicing, accounts receivables & payables management, cash and bank operations, asset accounting, general ledger scrutiny, finalization of accounts and notes to accounts. Specific knowledge of accounting of fixed income investments & trading transactions is imperative. - Ensure timely completion of location accounts across branches of all entities. - In consultation with the CFO, consolidate accounts across businesses and entities and develop routine reports on a periodic basis. Improve, optimize and / or develop relevant business unit level financial statements including revenue & overheads attribution, transfer pricing strategies, costing & profitability analysis and business planning support. - Lead & facilitate periodic audits including - internal, statutory, process, regulatory audits. And ensure full compliance of audited filings of accounting statements wherever required including for taxation, exchanges, regulatory bodies such as SEBI, RBI, CLB etc., - Ensure compliance of all regulatory aspects including timely payment of taxes, filing of returns, tax audits and assessments. This covers / includes all types of taxes to be paid out to / deposited with relevant Government departments (including but not limited to TDS for services taken, Service Tax, Wealth Tax, Professional Tax, Allied taxes, employee TDS, Corporate Income Tax, Stamp Duty etc.) every time. The group believes in fully compliant operations. - Optimise, develop & implement policies, procedures & systems for accurate & smooth functioning of the accounting function, drive periodic reviews and enforce statutory & compliance requirements with businesses as required. - Build a competent receivables strategy jointly with BU heads to ensure simultaneous minimization of receivables outstanding and business continuity with those clients without significant disruption. - Liase with & work closely with Statutory Auditors, Internal Auditors, Tax Consultants, and any such external / third parties that the group may engage with from time to time.
