DGR (Dangerous Good Regulation) Trainer

Company Profile : Reputed Indian logistics company providing courier delivery services.


Purpose : Improve the awareness on DG Transport as per the company requirements in compliance with international standards and assist for a safe business environment.


Key Responsibilities :

Responsibilities :

- Evaluate, Plan, Implement and Execute Effective Training Programs

- Set periodic guidelines/ SOP to handle Dangerous Goods shipments

- Maintain internal DG Operation Manuals in compliance with ICAO/IATA regulations

- Provide timely guidelines to Operation team to recognize and carry Chemicals/restricted commodities as per current DG regulations.

- Interact with customers and give necessary guidelines with regards to the carriage of DG shipments

- Do regular risk assessments regarding the carriage of restricted category shipments

- Relentless interaction with the team to improve their awareness on Dangerous Gods and make sure nil incidents in our network.

- Interact with the commercial airlines to assist the carriage of our shipments without any adverse remarks.

- Establish a system adequately equipped to handle and emergencies related to the transport of restricted articles.

Technical Skills :

1. Certified as DG category 6 Qualified

2. Having minimum 5 years of experience in DG handling

3. Have an in-depth knowledge on content of DG regulations

4. Knowledge of biological substance and packaging characteristics of Pharmaceutical Products

5. Knowledge of various types of batteries, hazard levels, its logistics requirements and restrictions

6. General awareness of industrial products like cylinders, refrigerating equipment and containers to take decision on carriage

7. Knowledge on Emergency Response plans commensurate with the business and corporate requirements

8. Knowledge of Housekeeping aspects related to DG storage

9. Knowledge on the requirements and coolants / dry ice provisions for TCL

10. Effective communication skill to interact with our internal and external customers

11. Skill to do the regular risk and impact assessment with regards to the carriage of Dangerous Goods.

Key Result Areas and Key Performance Indicators :

1. Training

- Establish a DG Training facility as per the regulatory norms

- Plan and Execute Trainings to all team members

2. Assistance for business

- Able interaction with the customers

- Able interaction with ops team to ensure hassle free transport of restricted goods.

- Timely assistance to handle emergencies

- Develop proactive measures to improve the throughput and nil violation.

3. Nil Incidents

- Improve awareness and prompt response to ensure nil incidents.
